It was a difficult decision to make but Eleanor had already made up her mind by the time she got ahold of a dress.

She had many dresses at home and some were formal but she was very aware of the expenses of how the Malfoys had dressed and felt the need to find something better with the money she had saved.

A red silk dress had done the trick.

"Do you think the red lipstick is too tacky with the dress?" Eleanor asks while she looks at her reflection in her room.

Severus stands to the side with an upset glance at her.

"Yes." He says bitterly

Eleanor turns around at his comment.

"Someone is being rude."

He shrugs his shoulders. "You wanted my opinion. And I don't understand why you're going to this stupid ball or why you're getting so dressed up for it...."

A sigh was released and Eleanor grabbed hold of her handbag. "Because I want to go and I just wanted to make a good impression thats all."

He raised his eyebrow after her. "You're making some sort of an impression alright." Severus mutters.

Her handbag slapped across his shoulder and he released an 'ow' noise.

"What the hell is that suppose to mean?!" Eleanor exclaimed

He rubs his arm up and down. "Look I'm sorry okay. But I don't like this. I don't like that you're trying to befriend these people. And I don't like how Malfoy is trying to befriend you by inviting you to his expensive parties. I swear he's going to lure you in like bate!"

"And then what? He doesn't know anything about me Severus!" Eleanor argues back, "And neither do you so I would advise you to stop trying to act like you know what's best for me and let me be!"

With a slight shove Severus is forced to move out of her way and leaves without another word.

"What's taking her so long?" Lucius whispers to himself while his eyes watch the clock.

Already guests have crowded up to the manor and it irritated him to know that these were people Narcissa had just wanted to invited to show off their expenses to or 'his' expenses he should say.

Fixing his tie Lucius made his way down the staircase to see the wizards and witches with fake smiles exchanging looks of dismay with whoever had approached the entrance way.

For a moment Lucius had ignored it but the sight of bright red in a room full of dull colors let his gaze follow the woman approaching the room.

It was Eleanor.

With a grin Lucius gave himself no time to listen to whatever magical politician was trying to talk to him about as he walked through the crowd.

Eleanor stood awkwardly but with grace.

Even though she hated the idea of enslaved house elfs she took a glass of sparkling wine from Dobby who walked around with a tray of drinks.

"I'm glad you're here." Lucius walked up from behind her.

Eleanor turned with a polite smile but she couldn't help but swallow thickly at how he approached her.

Even though its only been two months since they've last encountered eachother she almost forgot how attractive he was and seeing him now had reminded her.

He dressed well and he smelled amazing beyond words.

"Hi." She manged to say. "Thank you for inviting me Mister Malfoy."
