CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE:
"truth"

Saturday. The day they were sneaking out. Asher's car was parked in her driveway as he waited for her to come out. It was almost 12 at noon and they hadn't left yet.

She came out of the door with a hat and black sunglasses. If she was thinking this made her look any different..she's wrong.

"Sorry, I'm late I had to work on my disguise." She commented as she sat inside.

"Your disguise? I just can't see your eyes" He stated.

She glared at him, "Well, it'll do. It's not like I can't dye my hair blue or something"

He laughed, "I mean—"

She rolled her eyes playfully, "Okay Okay—start driving now!"

A few minutes into the one and half hour drive, she got a text from Johnny making her feel really guilty about lying to him.

She bit her lip as she re-read the texts, she messed up by not telling him. The guilt was eating her up.

Asher soon pulled over, "We're here." He said.

She looked out the window, flashbacks flipping through her head, she shook her head to get rid of the unwanted thoughts, "Home sweet home." She sighed.

"I'm sorry," Asher said softly. "You didn't have to do all this for me."
