November 10, 2008. Carlemain Park South Harlimington Blvd, 19087 Calico California.
It's been a long time since I've been back here. I looked down at the street and watched all of the activities that were happening around me. Children ran around a square playground below. Parents sat on benches watching their phones. Street vendors started the process of closing for the night.
I can't believe that she would send me back here, doesn't she remember what happened? No wonder no one else wanted to come here. Let's just try to not make such a mess this time.
Nothing interesting was happening right now on the street below...but that might change.
Remember, all you have to do is wait patiently and then when the moment is right...fire. Seems easy right? Well it should, but I was never told who my intended target was today. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but since my line of work had been getting more dangerous...well this could end up being bad. They should have a black bag, I'll need to get the bag before the cops show up though. Black bag, just a black bag, who doesn't have a black bag?
I can't remember the last time I was given this much time off before a job. Things have been stirring everywhere lately and I don't want to be the one to accidentally push things over the edge.
Especially with all the rumpus circulating around.
I was the last resort for this mission. No one wanted it. I don't either, but was I given a choice? No.
This used to be so easy, just take the shot...then get the money and go home. Forget about what you do in the mornings and continue to live your life. I didn't always do this though. I refused to join a team or group for a larger job, with more ways to hurt people and to make it fun, I didn't want to be around that.
That's why more people joined, the misery that they can cause others. Don't get me wrong, I really don't like to hurt innocent people, but the ones that have it all...I don't see why not. Some people like me, some people that I know, they don't do this for the joy of hurting other people. You have to put food on the table somehow.
What would Liam think of this? No stop. I know that I've had too much time alone because my thoughts are going back to him. My rules, I am not allowed to think, talk, or call him. I am more than angry with him and I will always be that much will not change. I turned around and looked down at the street again, still nothing.
I can't believe that it's been five hours and nothing.
I'm starting to think that they have a different plan than what I was told. Maybe that's why they didn't give me a choice on this. Maybe they've figured something out. For years now I've been the best marksmen that they have. I work alone and get the job done. But like I said, things have been changing. I've even heard the rumors that people are believing.
Do you ever get the feeling that something bad is going to happen?
Maybe they finally figured out who you are...No that would be impossible. Like it's actually impossible, I've been careful and I haven't taken too many risks. I heard a loud crash from below me. I looked down and stared at the chaos unfolding, I spotted the person standing calmly behind it all off to the side. No. No, it can't be him. He's gone, he would never show up here again. And he shouldn't have been able to find me. But yet here he was, right below me. As I stared he turned and found my gaze. Even for a normal breathing human being, Liam had excellent eyesight. I wasn't surprised when he stared at me from the street.
