Amber walked down the stairs into the kitchen at eight AM. As she left the kitchen and headed for the dining room suddenly her house was too noisy for it to just be her dad in the dining room. Amber reached the French doors that lead to the dining room she her dad had called all local society members to a meeting.
Oh crap. If dad called a society meeting that means Thomas is here.
“Hi guys. What is the today’s agenda for the almighty slayer society? It must be very very important if we are having a meeting this early.” Ambers tone dripped of sarcasm. Scanning the room Amber let out a sigh of relief upon not seeing Thomas. She walked over to the window and stared out at the rose garden.
“Amber!!! Did you miss me? I missed you” hearing a familiar voice Amber turned around fast enough to see a flash of red hair as Thomas ran up and hugged her. Letting out a groan as Thomas squeezed the air out of her lungs, Amber unintentionally hugged Thomas back.
“No. I didn’t miss you because sadly for you my world doesn’t revolve around Thomas Flynn” snapped Amber as she pushed Thomas away harder than necessary. Before Thomas had time to read her mind Amber stormed out of the room and headed up stairs to get ready for school.
Amber grabbed her back pack off the floor next to her desk and her geometry text book, headed back down the stairs, snagging her keys off the hall table and walked out the front door. She marched toward the garage pressing the button on her key fob making the garage door open. Amber jogged over to her dark blue ’04 Ford Mustang, jumped into the driver’s seat and sped down the driveway. When she turned onto the road amber turned on the radio to rock 105.5 and cranked up the volume because Skillet was playing.
After fifteen minutes of driving and blowing off steam amber pulled into her assigned parking spot number 115. Amber picked up her bag and slung it over her left shoulder locked her car and headed for her locker.
I love coming to school. It means no training, just time to relax and enjoy my life.
She walked down the halls of Belleview High School with a smile on her face. Amber turned the corner and headed down D hall to her locker. When she reached her locker she put up her geometry book and grabbed her English and sociology books. Amber checked her cell for the time noticing that is was nine o’ five she took off for the west wing. Barely getting in Mr. Sloan’s doorway before the bell screeched through the hallways of Belleview High, She slid into her desk and pulled out her sociology book, a pen and a piece of paper. Mr. Sloan always started his lecture the same way every day except today.
“Today class we have a new student as some of you may already know. But seeing as how this is the first class of the day I am obligated to introduce him much to his dismay. Class, this is Thomas Flynn.” Mr. Sloan announced as a tall very pale boy with red hair strode in to class. Amber grimaced as she quickly grasped the fact that she would have to deal with Thomas every day first period for at least one semester if not more.
“Thomas would you like to tell the class one thing about you if not please move to you seat. Which I will assign you in just a minute” Mumbled Mr. Sloan as he checked his seating chart.
Please don’t notice the open seat behind me.
“It looks like there is an empty seat behind Miss. Donavan, so Thomas will you please take a seat while we begin todays lecture.” said Mr. Sloan while setting up today’s power point. Thomas walked over to the desk behind Amber who was trying not to think of anything but the lecture on social norms. Amber could almost feel Thomas prying at her mind so when the bell rang she jumped out of her seat and rushed out of class into the sea of students heading toward their second class of the day.
