Lysa heard the front door shut closed from up in her room, and she recognized the sound to be Mr. Wilburn coming in. She closed her eyes, sighing as she prepared for another rollercoaster of insults. The small walk she had with Sadie and Suzie the same morning had lightened her mood slightly, but she still wouldn't draw a smile. She stood up, going to the small desk they had given her by the time she was still a decent girl to their eyes. She set her glasses on top of it, sighing harshly. She had realised her bad eyesight two years ago, and they had given her glasses for her vision and hadn't thought about taking them off her, fortunately. She was short-sighted, which would've given her some trouble if she hadn't realised it at that time. Her name was called, and she sighed as she leaned her hands on the desk, squeezing her eyes shut to ease the headache that grew. She has had headaches since her little trip in 1969, her first time-travelling experience. She hated those, and it sometimes took hours to ease some of them. They seemed to become longer and longer each day.
She opened her eyes at a sound behind her. She recognized this sound instantly, but couldn't believe it was true. Her mind had played a lot of games on her lately, and she wouldn't fall into them once more.
Although she promised herself she wouldn't fall into craziness by looking endlessly for her family, she turned around slowly, in hope of spotting the only other teen that could produce this sound.
She flinched and strangled a scream in her throat as she stumbled onto the desk, pushing a glass of water that stood there. The glass exploded on the floor, but that wasn't what made her throw her hand on her chest.
Five Hargreeves, bright and clear, stood in the middle of her room, a meter away from her. He was as she had last seen him. Still looking as young as a thirteen-year-old. Lysa's face, however, showed a mix of pure fright and confusion, and she was panting as she tried to process what was in front of her.
It couldn't be. She had looked for him everywhere, looked for all of them for three years, and not a sign of any Hargreeves had been spotted in the city of Dallas. She surely was dreaming.
"Hello, sis." his voice rang in her ears, and it was now she knew it was real. He looked down at the glass of water that had exploded on the floor, a small smirk crawling on his lips before he looked back up at her face. The smirk disappeared as he realised his sister's expression.
Lysa couldn't seem to utter a word, and she struggled to let out at least one word.
"Five ?" she breathed out, almost as a whisper. Her broken voice seemed to confuse the boy, and he walked closer to her slowly. But before he could ask anything, she cut him in a startled voice.
"What- What are you doing here ?" she whispered his way, closing the gap between them as she walked closer to him, fear evident on her face. Five seemed to get why she was that startled about seeing him, as she seemed much older than when he had last seen her. Three years more, maybe.
"I found you this morning, but apparently it wasn't the right time," he replied, sending her a genuine smile to try and ease her fear. Lysa shook her head, looking away from his eyes.
"No, you don't understand, you can't be here." she started, before looking at the door as she heard some noises from outside. "If he sees you-"
"Lysa !" Wilburn's voice called from the staircase, and Lysa seemed to pale if that was even possible on her already paled skin.
