"Heeseung!" you shout at the top of your lungs, startling the poor boy behind you. "Oh, there you are, your friends are waiting for you at table two."
"Thanks, Y/n."
Grabbing a spray bottle and a washcloth, you temporarily leave the cashier position to another coworker, Mihyun. Luckily for you, the café hasn't been as busy as usual today, so the tables are a lot less work to keep clean. Just a few plates and cups here and there along with two or three sprays keeps everything pretty pristine. Usually, you have earbuds in while cleaning the tables, but you forgot them at home today.
How lucky.
The café isn't huge; there are only seven tables, making it an easy cleaning job. You carry a small bin with you to put dishes in while you disinfect all other eating surfaces. Customers chat quietly and you try not to listen in, but one specific interaction catches your eye- well, your ears.
"Hyung, when are you going to actually talk to Y/n?" one of Heeseung's friends, you are pretty sure was named Riki, attempts to whisper (and fails miserably).
"What do you mean? I talk to her all the time?"
"Not like that, I mean like... you know, like ask her on a date or something," the friend repeats cheekily.
"Aish, lower your voice, Riki, she could hear you. And what do you mean by that, I do not have a crush on her!" Heeseung whisper-shouts back.
You turn so your back would face them so they won't think you can hear the conversation; at least, that's what you tell yourself. Really, your face is redder than ever before and you don't want anyone, especially Heeseung, to notice. You chuckle to yourself as you finish the last table and return to the counter. Heeseung timidly joins you and begins to wash the dishes.
"So, uh, Y/n, I have something to ask... Would you, maybe... Would you want to-"
"Yes, I would, Hee. Sorry to embarrass you, but I might've heard the entire conversation over there."
"Ah, seriously, I'm going to kill Riki later. But uh, you're serious?" Heeseung asks, drying off a mug.
"Why would I be joking?" you retort with a smile.
