Dex's POV:
Silence.
Nobody knew what to say or do.
Our captain was dead.Except Bonnie apparently. He wasted no time trying to take his place as captain. We told him to go pot. He asked what that meant and we told him it was an friendlier way to tell someone to.... I'll leave it to the imagination actually.... I've taken over since then, and it's been quite an... adventure. Bonnie won't learn to shut the hell up because nobody cares. Keori is so preoccupied with Foxy, because he is so broken he can't stay online for 10 bloody minutes. What makes me the most angry is how quickly Illoha has moved on from her girlfriend's death. I saw her kiss Malra the other day, right in front of Ru. I called her some fun words. She's allowed to move on, but it's been a week. Everyone is in shock. We all loved Fox. Ru doesn't know how to take it. She was his mom. He just hasn't left Damien's side other than to scream at Illoha about her cheating. He doesn't think she's dead. I'd hate to ruin his optimism, but I saw her blow up in front of me.
This is a mess.
I walk into my bedroom and sit on the end of my bed, sighing deeply. Josie walks in and settles our son in his crib.
"Hello darlin'," I smile. She kisses me and sits down.
"How's bein' the captain?" She asks.
"I have to make a big decision." I sigh.
"What's that?" She stands up and starts folding laundry,
"Josie, let me do that." I sigh, trying to stop her from folding the clothes I threw on the floor.
"Sit." She points to the bed.
I reluctantly do so and explain the situation at hand, "I want to get rid of Bonnie."
"Why's that?" She asks, turning to face me.
"He messes up everything, Josie." I shake my head.
"He was the reason Illoha's crew died, the reason our planet was attacked, the reason Acron is dead, the reason 3/4ths of our original crew died, and now the reason a young girl, his damn best friend, is dead." I breathe deeply, "He's too much of a risk."
She ponders this for a minute, "I agree."
"You do?" I ask hopefully.
"It just means Foxete died for nothing." Josie looks away, "Nobody will take him, he'll die."
"We'll send him back." I stop.
"What Dex?" Josie asks alarmed.
"Her Freddy." I wince, "He doesn't know. I have to tell him."
"Do you want me to go with you?" She asks.
"No. I'll take someone he knows..." I think. He knows Illoha, but she.... No. Ru. I'll take Ru. He was her son.
"I'll take Ruon." I nod, "We'll go tomorrow."
Josie walks over and kisses my forehead, "Good. Now sleep."
"Yes ma'am." I chuckle. She leaves.
I lie down in the bed and stare at the ceiling.
"I hope your alright kid, wherever you are, whatever afterlife. Whether it's mine or yours. You're with Acron now." I feel myself chocking up,"Goodnight, Foxete."
