3. halsey

Claire slammed the door behind her when she came into the dorm room with her tea; she only drank water, tea, and occasionally orange juice if she was up to it.

"why don't you find a guy who would be better for you, like that Calum guy. he's not an ass like all the other frat boys," I told her.

"I don't wanna talk about it anymore," she said flopping down on her bed.

"ok, sorry." I said back.

"but Calum has a girlfriend I think, one of my friends knows her." Claire informed me.

"oh, I thought you didn't want to talk about it anymore.." I smirked and her and she stuck out her tongue.

"whatever," she said. "I'm, uh going out tonight." she told me.

"with whom," I raised an eyebrow trying to sound sophisticated.

"a friend..." she trailed off.

"mmhm, and this friend wouldn't happen to be Luke would it?" I asked.

"what?" she asked.

"what?" I repeated.

"bye," she said leaving as fast as she could, so I didn't have a chance to respond. well if anything happened it was her problem I tried to warn her.

it was 2:00 in the morning when I saw light come into our dorm room from the hallway.

"you little sneak," I sat up, turning on the lamp by my bed. I was a really light sleeper. Claire just gasped. "so do you want to tell me who you were with tonight?" I asked.

"yeah, because there's nothing you can do about it anymore," she said and I scowled. "i was with Luke," she said blankly.

"how was that?" I asked.

"fine," she said "he's not gonna hurt me, I even asked him." she said.

"what do you mean you asked him?" I asked curiously.

"well I said 'Halsey basically told me you were a slut an-" I cut her off.

"I did not say that!" I yelled at her. "what did he do when you said that?" I asked worried.

"he just laughed, but anyways I was like 'yeah Halsey said you're a man slut and that you'll hurt me, and she doesn't want me going to the party or doing anything like that with you. she said you'd hurt me,' and he was like, 'I would never hurt you Claire you're so beautiful. I can't think of a life without you," she mimicked Luke by making her voice deeper I just laughed. "and he said all that sappy stuff, I mean I believe him." she said.

"okay" I just shrugged my shoulders. Claire changed into her pajamas and hopped into bed.

"night ashy ash," she said in a babyish tone.

"it's Halsey," I said annoyed. she just giggled. "you're lame," this made her giggle even more. I just shook my head. "goodnight lamo," I turned my lamp off.

"Halsey?" Claire asked after it had been quiet for about a minute.

"Claire?" I copied her.

"do you think Luke really loves me?" she asked. I thought for a little, because this was actually a pretty serious question.

"I mean I guess, but him still being a young man, he still doesn't exactly get the concept of love. none of us do. we just go along with it. we may never really know the true meaning of love. you can, quote un-quote, love Luke as much as you want, but is it really love? sure you find him attractive, you like his personality, you may like everything about him, but we still can't grasp the actual meaning of love. so to wrap it up, I don't know. his mind works in weird, ways just like everyone else's." I finished of my little speech. words of wisdom right there from me. you're welcome.

"have you ever had a boyfriend," she asked me. I hesitated on answer that.

"I'm going to be completely honest with you," I started

"ok," Claire said

"I've only had like 2 boyfriends and they were back in middle school, I normally stick to one night stands.." I confessed to Claire.

"so you're trying to protect me from Luke who sleeps around, but you do the same?" Claire asked.

"well yeah, but I just want to protect you, I feel like you're my little sister." I explained.

"so you don't know the true meaning of love either," Claire stated.

dang I feel like most of Halsey's speech doesn't make sense.. oops that's not my problem any more. but oH MY GOD GUYS MY HISTORY TEACHER IS LIKE ONE OF THE TALLEST PEOPLE IVE EVER MET ANF I FOUND OUT HES AN INCH SHORTER THAN LUKESJALFKAL I ACTUALLY CRIED LUKE IS SO TALL KMS BUt anyways back to normal I hope u like this update bc I suck @ this but oh well lulz B-)) bye guysysysys - Molly ☃
