He fluttered his eyes open. Harsh, white lights bleed into his sight.

It took him at least two minutes to adjust to the blinding gaze. For what it was, he realised he was lying down, facing the ceiling. As the seconds pass by, he realises that he's on a bed with a pillow,

Those sounds were the only things breaking the silence.

Eventually, tiredness consumed the confusion and boredom, and Ranboo shut his eyes and fell back into the warm unconscious embrace.

"But sir, it's been three days! It shouldn't take this long!-"

"Shut, Simons. All you do is panic. Calm down every once in a while."

The voices kept me from asleep. I slowly opened my eyes, light blinding them for a few moments.

I looked around the room. Small, white tiles covered the walls and floors. I was laid on a bed; a large, white towel covered the lower half of my body.

"Oh, Ranboo! Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up."

I looked to the source of the sound... it was Tubbo...IT'S HIM!

I shook my legs, pushing away the blanket. I tried to move away from him. He was wearing a soft smile. FAKE! But his strength took over me as he placed his hand on my shoulder and pushed me back down to the bed, my head hitting the pillow. A soft pillow.

"Ranboo, careful! You're not yet healed!" Healed?!

"I-I think you g-got the wrong p-person."

He smiled. "You're hurt, Ranboo. Just look at yourself! I was so worried when the car got you!" What car is he talking about?

It is as though he read my mind. "Oh my god, you must have forgotten. You did hit your head pretty hard if I do say so myself-"

"Where the hell am I."

My sudden voice must surprise him because he looked at me weird...it might've been his acting.

"Ranboo, you're at the hospital. You got hit by a car!"

I didn't remember any of that.

"What?"

"Oh, Ranboo. We were talking about Wilbur, but then you ran across the road an-and...a car...it came out of nowhere! An-and it hit you, and y-you fell".

I would be lying if I said I believe what Tubbo said, but I would also be lying if I said I could come up with a reason to exactly why Tubbo is lying. I mean, why would he?

Like anyone would do in my situation, I strained my head to try and remember the things that happened the night before...night? It hit me that the hospital room had no windows or anything that told me how much time had passed or even what time it was. The last thing I remember was drinking the lemonade Tubbo gave me...lemonade.

If anything, one of the most crucial things that Wilbur taught me was to be very careful of what I consume. Because that can "determine the fate of my mortality". Wilbur was a flamboyant guy, but I could see that he was looking out for me. He said it would be handy if I could remember the things I ate and drank in case I got an allergic reaction (which had happened to me too many times to count).

And that lesson is coming to your use. From the creepy-looking hospital room with no windows to standing in the rain a hundred feet away from Wilbur's funeral to suddenly wanting me to work for him, Tubbo is raising a considerable amountred flags to come and think of it. It wouldn't be a surprise if he had some funny substances added to the drink he gave me.

Ranboo felt unreasonably calm as if he had everything under control.

Anyone in Ranboo's situation would probably curl up into a ball in the corner of the room and either cry or let other types of raw emotions come out. "It's good to cry", Ranboo's therapist has always said to him, "it lets out any bottled-up emotions that you have. If you don't let them out, then things will get much worse". Ranboo thought it was just a bunch of bullcrap. Who cries just because they want to? Just because it would help them? To him, crying is just a way to show weakness, to show that you're not good enough or mature enough to face the 'real world'.

People cry because there's nothing else they could do.

Ranboo had always thought that.

Soon enough, the thoughts start to flood into his head.

Where am I?

Why am I here?

Tubbo?

Who's Tubbo?

Why does this Tubbo guy want him?

What happened?

It might have been the car crash right?

What kind of hospital is this?!

-

Warm liquid starts to gather in his eyes, blurring his vision.

Ranboo would've blinked it back into his head of someone- Tubbo- is in the room, but he isn't. Ranboo is alone.

So with a deep breath, Ranboo let the familiar tears fall from his face as he zoned out, staring at empty space. He isn't thinking of anything in particular; Ranboo is simply letting the emotions sink in...
