I walked back to the party and saw manik with a glass of something in his hand sitting at the bar

"So this party is to award the best businessman as you all know so I would like mr mehera to come on stage and announce who the award goes to" the host said

"I am so glad and honoured to be presenting this award. The best businessman award goes to manik malhotra and cabir dhawan" he said and both manik and cabir walked on stage

I took a whole bunch of pictures and they said their thank you and how they appreciate it and all, they got down from stage and I walked to manik while cabir walked to navya.

"Congratulations manik, im so proud of you" I said hugging him but he didnt hug me back

"Thanks" he said pulling away

"Whats wrong" I asked

"Nothing" he said

"Babe whats wrong"

"Dont call me that" he said in his stupid firm tone

"Manik"

"What"

"Whats wrong, did I do something? Why are you being distant" I asked and he just shrugged his shoulders walking to the bar

"Manik come on, dont spoil your mood its a big day"

"Sure" he said

"Congrats bhai" I said and he hugged me

"Thanks Choti"

"Manik"

"Nandini just shut up, I dont wanna hear your nagging voice right now" he said and I nodded not wanting to spoil his night even more

"Manik what the fuck" cabir said

"What"

"Why are you talking to her like that" cabir asked grabbing the glass of whiskey from his hands

"Cabir not now" he said

"Bhai leave it for now, navya" I looked at her and she understood

"Cabir lets go" she said taking him with her

"You wanna stay longer" I asked him and he didnt say anything just kept staring at his glass so I just sat there with him

A few minutes went by and he grabbed his glass and gulped the contents down in one go

"Make it stronger" he said to the bartender

He had 14 drinks, one after another without a break and once he was on his 15th drink I grabbed it out of his hand

"Thats enough for you" I said and he looked angry

"Fuckk off, just go" he said

"Watch what you say Manik, you are drunk"

"I dont give a shit nandini" he semi yelled

"Dont you dare yell at me in front of everyone or you wont find me near you tom morning get that in your drunk head, one word and im walking away" I said and it did the trick becasue he didnt say anything

"Get up and lets go" I said grabbing his arm

He swayed a little but started walking out with me, thank god that people were busy so they didnt realize him drunk and almost falling over a couple times

"Cabir im taking him home, he is drunk off his ass for unknown goddamn reason" I said spotting cabir

"Ill drive" he said

"No I called max he is right outside, ill text you once im home"

"Be safe and ill see you in the morning" he and navya said

"Enjoy yourselves but use protection" I said and they both chuckled

"Im not going anywhere with you" Manik said as we walked outside

"Manik just please dont make this more difficult"

"Nandini you ruined the best day for me so forgive me if I am being difficult" he said

"Hey jeez is he drunk" max asked coming towards me

"Yes he is" I said and we got him in the car

The car ride was silent, Manik had his fists clenched and closed to tight, I wanted to ask him how I ruined the day but I let it be until we get home. Thankfully he didnt fuss she max helped get him in the house

"Do you need me to drop him up too" he asked

'No thanks, ill manage from here" I said

"Night nandini"

"Night ams, thanks for your help" he smiled and closed the door, thankfully they are automatic so they closed without me having to lock them

I took him upstairs to the bed where he laid down and I grabbed the award from his hand, I put it on the dresser.

"What is it Manik" I asked taking my earrings off

"Fuck off nandini" he spoke and it hurt me a lot but I knew he was drunk and hurt about something

"Go change, ill bring you some lemonade and food" I said and he didnt say anything

I quickly changed and handed him his clothes. I made him a lemonade and some Maggie becasue that was the quickest, when I came back he was sitting on the bed in his pyjamas

"Here you go" I said putting the tay infant of him

"I dont want this, and I dont want this stupid fake care"

"I know you are upset about something, I get it but please have it"

"No"

"Babe please"

"I told you not to call me that, just leave me alone just leave" he said

"If I leave you wont find me here in the morning" I said and he looked in my eyes

"Im being serious and you know it"

He started eating Maggie, he didnt offer me a bite which was hurtful becasue he always does but I got past it. I made him have his lemonade and then I washed the dishes really quickly walking back upstairs

"So now would you tell me what I did" I asked getting in bed with him

"You know what you did, I was having one of the best days and you went and fucking ruined it, you had to right, fuck" he screamed

"I dont know what I did"

"Nandini stop pissing me off" he said

"Okay go to sleep" I said knowing he is not gonna tell me

I closed the lights and a few minutes later he put his head in neck and fell a sleep holding me, as much as I wanted to stop crying I couldn't because his words fucked my head up really bad. It was ironic that I was so fucking tired and exhausted yet as I lay here eyes wide open wondering what happened

I couldn't think of anything that I could have done, maybe he is upset cease he saw me with harshad and that's rationale but honestly the way he handled it was extremely poor. I know ill melt as soon as he realizes what he did tom morning but at the moment I was not happy

I was even more angry at the fact that I managed to ruin his day, I was the cause behind it even though it was not intentional, it happened. It is also so weird that he still sleeps holding me like brah I thought you were pissed off. It kinda made me chuckle it between my sobs.
