Seonghwa's pov
"Sweetheart, we have to try to make amends with the Song kingdom." Hongjoong spoke as he tugged his shirt over his head.
"What? Why? Are you guys not at peace?" I asked as I also began to get dressed.
"No, we haven't been for a couple decades, but I'm hoping that having you, one of their allies, with me will be enough to bring peace between us," he said. I nodded and followed him out of our bedroom.
We docked our ship at the Song kingdom and raised our sails and dropped our anchor so our ship would stay put.
"Joong, why don't you have peace with the Song kingdom?" I asked softly as I held his hand while we walked to the castle.
"I, myself, have no idea, but my father said it was an accident on our end, which caused the current king to lose his brother," he explained. We were stopped just before the doors of the castle.
"Your majesty, why are you with captain Kim?" A guard I knew as Yunho asked quickly. I smiled at him and hugged him quickly.
"Yun, captain Kim is my soulmate," I spoke as I lifted our intertwined hands. His eyes widened as a smile broke through on his lips.
"Congratulations, Hwa. I hope you're happy," Yunho said before he nodded towards the other guard. The doors to the castle soon opened as Yunho led us through the halls to the throne room.
"Your Majesty, prince Seonghwa Park and Captain Hongjoong Kim are here to see you," Yunho bowed before exiting the throne room. Hongjoong and I bowed before King Song before standing upright.
"Ah, Prince Seonghwa, to what do I owe the pleasure of your presence?" King Song asked before his eyes fell to Hongjoong.
"Guards!" King Song exclaimed, causing a dozen armed men to enter the throne room.
"King Song, what are you doing?" I asked bewilderedly.
"Seonghwa, do you know who you're beside?! You're beside a killer's son!" King Song said. My eyebrows furrowed before I pulled Hongjoong closer to myself.
"King Song, he is my soulmate! I will not allow you to degrade Hongjoong to "a killer's son." Hongjoong is a kind man who rules our ship with the safety of our crew in mind!" I exclaimed. King Song's eyes widened.
"Prince Seonghwa, how did the gods match such a bright prince with a murderous pirate?" He yelled.
"You act as though you are clean of blood!" I shouted before I felt two guards grip onto me.
"Let go of me!" I continued to shout as I fought for my freedom. I glanced over to Hongjoong and found him kneeling on the ground, a gun to his head. A fire blazed in my eyes as I managed to overpower the two guards.
I pulled a gun out of my holster and aimed it for the man holding Hongjoong still.
"Let him go, King Song, before my father catches wind of this," I demanded.
"Fine, just get out of the Song kingdom!" He exclaimed and waved his hand at the guards. They released their hold on Hongjoong and the man aiming his gun lowered it.
"Glad to see my father's name can still hold power," I mumbled as I put my gun away. I took Hongjoong's hand in mine and walked out of the throne room.
"Hwa, what happened in there? I heard a lot of shouting!" Yunho exclaimed, grabbing onto my left shoulder. I tilted my head to look at my friend.
"King Song tried to have Hongjoong executed in his throne room. He didn't even let us explain why we came here- we didn't even get a chance to say "hello!" I groaned. Yunho's eyes widened.
