I couldn't seem to get the thoughts out of my head about the interaction in the courtyard. Why was Yperifaeia so cold toward Atton? What caused Pathos to appear as though she knew nothing of the visiting dignitary she had mentioned before? On top of that, what was this security errand Pathos had to look into for Yperifaneia while away on her travels? I had to find out what Pathos and Yperifaneia were speaking about.
I snuck out of my room and ventured to the corridor where Yperifaneia's chambers were located. I could hear both of my sisters arguing.
"That's all they said! They would dare deny a direct request from The High Priestess?" Exclaimed Yperifaneia.
"Oh, come off it," growled Pathos. "Why shouldn't they deny your request for any further aid? It isn't as though you have gone out of your way to aid them in any with the rising tension with the Manieurdemagie."
"And why should I?" Yelled a growing frustrated Yperifaneia. "They still choose to follow the false God Dergottderbindugem."
"Have you lost sight of what it means to be The High Priestess of Dimiourgias?" Cried Pathos while slamming her hands on the table. "Just because they do not worship the same God as us doesn't mean we shouldn't respect and aid them. Most of the Manieurdemagie and Kineticvoyiny follow The Order of Ledieudelorde. Yet, you still choose to associate yourself with them."
"That is completely different, and you know it," shouted Yperifaneia. "Ledieudelorde is not a false god. Without Theatisdimiourdias and Ledieudelorde, know of use would exist! So be it. If the Energynites will not help, I will have to go with the option I had chosen in the first place."
"They never said they wouldn't help you," replied Pathos. "It's that they can't. They say that the part you played in the battle with Zeultimpuluișialspațiului is why you are starting to lose your ties to Theatisdimiourgias and the powers that come with it."
"So they say," responded Theatisdimiourgias in a tone that implied she did not believe them. "Nevertheless, the only option is to seek aid from Lord Magnus and Prime Minister Xaoc. Take the Asteridromeas and bring them to me at once."
Pathos's claws and fangs started to protrude at this point. In addition, the fur on her body began to rise.
"You would truly go so low as to align yourself with those two after what it cost you the last time?" she roared. "Doing so is most likely why this is happening in the first place! I refuse to take part in any plan that involves them."
"Know your place," spoke Yperifaneia in an authoritative tone. Relaxing how infuriated this entire conversation had made her, she poised herself before continuing. "So be it. I will not force you to bring them to me. They shall come, however, and you will be a part of the discussion once they arrive. Now go. I do not wish to speak about this any further."
I quickly rushed away from the corridor to avoid being found by listening in. What does this all mean, though? Yperifaneia is losing her connection to Theatisdimiourgias? How long has this been going on? Who are the Energynites? Also, I know little of Lord Magnus and Prime Minister Xaoc, but what can they do to help stop this? All of this leads to more unanswered questions. I need to get to the bottom of this one way or another.
