"What is it?"

"Clearly it's a girl of some sort."

"I know that," -I don't think he knew that- "But what species is it."

"Do I look like I know any more information on the topic than you do?"

"Good point."

They both go quiet and continue staring at me, probably hoping some answers would be written on my skin. Their silence gives me a moment to grasp the true absurdity of the situation.

What was a regular night spent eating ice cream, watching Netflix, and ending up in semi-peacful sleep, had turned into a nightmare. I woke up in the woods, but to make matters worse, this forest was far from being 'earthlike' and the faces that soon filled my vision of the strange treetops were definitely alien.

They both have semi-human looking bodies, albeit they seem like they are larger than the average man, but it's hard to tell how much from my view on the ground. Their feet are not really feet at all, but large claw-tipped paws. Their bodies are covered in short, dark fur. To top it all off, they both have horns that arch out of their heads to point behind them in a C shape. Their faces looked slightly human at first glance, but instead of a human nose theirs was closer to resembling the start of a snout. They also had velvet looking fur coating their faces, thinner here than anywhere else on their bodies (that I could see anyway).

As I examin them, they both seem to be examining me as well. I can tell I'm in shock, because although I know I should be running for my life I also can't get passed the numbness that's clouding my brain. They certainly look threatening, but if I'm not mistaken, it seems like they're every bit as confused about how to handle this situation as I am.

"Should we approach her? She seems to have calmed down a bit. She looks cold, do you think she's cold?" The smaller of the two starts to take off his outer layer before his friend answers. It's a pelt shaped like robe and it looks warm.

The ground is covered in snow, the blue tinted trees weighed down from icicles and covered in white powder. My t-shirt and flannel pajama pants are ill-suited for the deathly cold climate I woke up in. It's only after he mentioned me being cold that I noticed my whole body shaking and my teeth chattering.

He starts stepping closer, the jacket held out for me to grab. I only hesitate a second before I stand up and take a stumbling step closer to snatch the jacket out of his grasp. I quickly put it on- not caring that it could be some sort of trick. His warmth still holds on to the jacket and I relish the heat, tucking my chin down and basking in the protection from the cold. It's ridiculously big on me, the edges will drag in the snow but I couldn't be happier to get my hands on it.

When I look up again, they remain where they were, but with the shock of waking up in an unfamiliar world wearing off I feel fear quickly beginning to wash over me. Now that I'm standing I can tell that they aren't just tall, they're huge. The shorter of the two is probably a little over six and a half feet, the other a bit closer to seven.

They must have seen the oncoming terror on my face because they both take a step closer, as if preparing to grab me if I make a run for it. They look at each other for a few seconds, seeming to communicate something to one another before returning their attention back to me.

"It's okay, we aren't going to hurt you." The short of the two puts his hands out, trying to convey that he means no harm.

I back up a few steps, but continue to watch him in case he makes any sudden moves. What I wasn't prepared for was the larger of the two, who takes advantage of my distraction and grabs me before I have the chance to run. His squeezes me to his chest, my arms stuck at my sides. As I struggle to slip from his grasp my ribs creak as his hold tightens.
