devil's night

"This is entertaining! " Millie commented, assisting Nicole with tricks. The two separated from Ivar and Mads, while Fane was with Gunnar and Indie. "Be careful; you can burn yourself with that. My dad didn't see me steal it from his stash. I would be dead by now if he did," Nicole explained, giggling. They were planning to burn an abandoned house, but people liked to come and write gross stuff about Thunder Bay.

"Wait, that's my ex's name. Evan has a small dick. Not so far from the truth," Mills joked, laughing as they poured gasoline around the house. Millie got out first, taking everything with her and waiting for Nicole. She looked around before taking the mask off and going outside. "Burn, burn, baby!" the two laughed, throwing a lighter on the trail of gasoline. As the house was burning, the two left, going to where everyone now went. Since the old place was ruined, they all decided to find an abandoned building to celebrate. They did find it, and it's still in a good place—a beautiful garden with a pool.

"Fucking hell. How many people are here? " Mills asked, parking the car not far away from the house. The two girls walked towards the sound of music and yelling, barely getting in since everyone stood and danced. "Millie! Come here!" one of the girls yelled, getting the other two's attention. "Go. I'll try to find Fane or anyone we know." She pushed the girl towards them, going downstairs to the basement.

"Little Lewis is all alone here. What can happen to her? No one can hear her. Boo," one of the guys with the mask said, touching her shoulder, making Nikki hit him in the balls. The guy groaned, lying on the floor. Others joined, laughing and filming the moment. "God, that was funny." Madden took off the mask, putting his phone in his back pocket. He helped his friend get up, still groaning. "You are fucking crazy! Fane? You idiot," she removed his mask, seeing who she hit. It wasn't the first time Nicole hit him in the balls, but it still hurt.

"Where is Ivar? He was with us just a moment ago. "Deol and the other guy took off the mask, seeing they were missing a member. "With that chick, " the guy exclaimed, taking the drink. Fane, Mads, and Nikki looked at each other with the same look they always had.

"Gross. Anyway, do you want to see the garden? It has a very beautiful view and a pool," Fane asked her, seeing the smile on the girl's face. He took her hand, leading her towards the garden.
"It's so peaceful here. How come we didn't know about this place? " Nicole asked, seeing how beautiful the garden was. She smiled, walking towards the pool. It was like someone lived there still. Or maybe there was security. "The owners still lived here, but now it's abandoned. I would buy it one day. Would you like to live here one day? " Fane asked her, sitting down. Nicole smiled, sitting next to him. "Maybe. We could always have a house and live with our friends. Remember that? " She smiled, seeing how beautiful the house and the garden are. It was a perfect place to live.

"Fourth grade. Millie, you, and me Then Millie said she would live in New York. "Fane snorted, remembering that moment. They always made promises, but almost none of them came true. From wanting to live in space to wanting to live somewhere away, not one came true. They didn't mind it that much. After all, they grew up, and most of the promises sounded dumb. "You know she adores New York. Maybe when we get older, we can buy it. Unless some of us go to jail," Nicole joked, making Fane lightly push her. She poked his arm, laughing. They heard students cheering, trying to see what was going on.

"Do you want to know?" she asked him, pointing at the house. Their friends were inside, probably cheering with others. Fane shook his head, looking at Nicole. He loved how the moonlight made her hair shine. He adored her freckles, even if she hated them. But to him, she's the most beautiful girl. And his best friend. "Here's to many more Devil's nights to come," he said, looking at her, giving her a chocolate he took from the fridge. She smiled, taking half of it and giving him the rest. "To many more and less crazier to be," Nicole grinned, both of them laughing. She wished that they could stay like that, with no stress and only peace. But they were almost adults, and she knew that wouldn't be long. Nor that their happiness would be long.
