Eddie
"One more year, this is my year" I mumble to myself as I go into my history class. At least it's almost spring break, I pass all the kids who make me feel like a freak everyday as I get to my desk in the very back. Everyone sits and Mr. Danielson is about to start class when the door opens. A girl i've never seen before walks in, she looks like everyone else in this town but something about her makes my stomach turn and my face feel hot. She hands Mr. Danielson a note."Alright class we have a new student Frankie Patterson all the way from California" She gives the class an awkward smile.
"Now let's see where to sit you" I noticed his eyes instantly go to the seat next to me.
"Ahh yes right next to Mr. Munson, Eddie please raise your hand" I awkwardly did so as I heard one of the girls on the cheerleading team say.
"God I feel so sorry for her" she makes her way towards me and puts her things on the table next to mine as she sat down. The smell of strawberry meets my nose.
"Hi, i'm Frankie" she whispers to me with a big glossy smile. I notice that her hair is dark brown and her eyes are big and bright green. Her skin is golden tan probably from the California sun, some freckles sit under the pink blush she has on. Now I don't know why I respond the way I did. Probably because I know there's no point in trying to be friends when she'll think i'm a weirdo like everyone else in a few hours.
"Yeah I heard" I said sternly, I saw her face drop and her smile disappear. The rest of class I'm completely zoned out until I hear Mr. Danielson say.
"Alright class, homework will be reading the next two chapters and there will be a pop quiz" everyone groans and starts to grab their things as the bell rings. I start to walk out with my bag over my shoulder when I hear
"Um Eddie, sorry to bother but do you happen to know where Ms. Pearson's class is?" Frankie asks as she walks next to me. I can feel all the eyes on us as we walk into the hallway together.
"Yes, i'm actually going there next" I answer as I notice how much shorter than me she is
"Oh how perfect, at least I'll know one person in class" she says with another one of her big smiles that for some reason make my cheeks warm.I don't say anything and we make it to the class. I walk in with Frankie following behind and she walks over to Ms. Pearson as I make my way to the back of the class. I look over to the empty desk next to me and know what's coming next. Frankie walks over and sits down filling the seat. This happened throughout the day until it was time for lunch. How is it that we have an identical schedule. I assumed a girl like her would be in higher level classes. I make my way to the lunch room and once again shes behind me.
"Hey Eddie wait up" I turn to her and cut her off before she can say anything.
"Look Frankie, I know you're new and all but i'm going to be very blunt with you. I'm not someone who usually hangs out with people like you unless it's me selling weed to you. You're nice and I get that being new sucks but we aren't meant to be friends. Do you see them over there?" I asked pointing at Chrissy and Jason and their posse.
"You should go and hang out with them, because you'll be doing so in a few days anyways. But again so nice to meet you Frankie Patterson and by the looks of it i'll see you next period" I turn and open the cafeteria doors and in the distance I hear.
"Oh you're the new girl right" coming from one of Jason's buddies. I see my friends at our usual table, I throw my bag on the table and sit. I see my friends Dustin and Mike walking towards us with a short brown haired kid i've never seen before yet his face seems familiar to me.
"Hey Eddie, guys. This is Floyd he just moved here and is also super into D&D" Dustin informs as they sit down across from me.
"Floyd, like Pink Floyd?" I ask
"Oh no my parents wanted to name me something starting with an F like my sister. Her name was already Frankie though so they couldn't go with Franklin. So they went with Floyd" He explained as I notice Frankie walking next to Chrissy and sitting down with the jocks.
"You're sister is Frankie Patterson?"
"Yeah, do you have a class with her?"
"Yeah somehow all of them"
"Oh it's nice to know she's not alone in class, Frankie's really cool she's the one who got me into D&D" Floyd informs us and I give him a confused look.
"She did?"
"Oh yeah I wasn't supposed to say that she's changed now and is trying to leave that all behind because of how bad our old school was. oh wait i shouldn't of said that either. Great now i'm over sharing again" I can't stop looking at her and she looks over at me. I kept our eye contact for a second before looking away and directing my attention to Floyd. He looks similar to Frankie he also has a few freckles but his eyes are a dark brown and his front two teeth have a small gap in them.
"So do you play?" I ask
"Yes, well sort of. Frankie taught me how to play but i'm still a beginner. Dustin says I might be able to learn more from you" I give him a big smile.
"Well Floyd Patterson welcome to Hellfire"
