Lacey’s POV
Prologue-
Every school has a few certain things, or people. Private schools are no different. For starters, there’s the school slut. We all know the type; the girl with daddy issues who sleeps around to feel happy.
At my private school, Payton was this person. We had been friends in middle school, but then she decided she was better than my best friend Amelia and me. After a lot of drama and the use of many different forms of the word slut, we spilt up.
Second, there’s the nerds. Some of you may think they’re cute, but they aren’t really my type. There’s always the fact that they’ll give you answers for a wink or two, though.
Then there’s the class clown, the jocks, the popular girls, etc. The list goes on and on. Oh, and if you get lucky, a school bad boy. I mean, who doesn’t love them? But, like I said earlier, my school is private, tiny, and I just didn’t get lucky.
Win some, lose some, I guess.
Like my school, the town live in, James’s Hollow, is tiny, reaching a grand total of 10,000 residents. We have a few other public schools, and then there’s the one I go to. James’s Hollow Academy, total of 150 students. I know, a lot, right? It’s mostly a school for the rich kids and kids that have been kicked out from public school and can’t go anywhere else.
I’m one of the rich kids, or at least that’s what my friends say. They also say I’m a goody-goody, which probably explains my obsession with bad boys. Yes, I know it’s totally clichéd, the whole good girl and bad boy thing. But a girl can’t help what she likes.
