We rolled out of bed around noon. I stretched out my long legs and felt the ache between my legs, reminded of last night. I couldn't help the smile that crept onto my face. I looked over at Steven and my jaw hit the ground, and I exploded into a fit of laughter.

"What are you laughing at?" He looked at me, the confused look on his face making me laugh even harder. He was covered in bite marks, scratch marks down his back and one hell of a black eye. "You have a black eye!" I held my stomach and doubled over laughing.

"No shit?" He asked poking at his eye, "Ow!!!" I howled with laughter. "That's your fault you know! If you hadn't of thrown your head back so fast this wouldn't be here!" He said pointing at his eye.

"Well maybe if you didn't fuck me so damn good we wouldn't have to worry about it! Turn about is fair play baby!" I said walking up to him and kissing and gently biting his neck, his all time favorite thing.

"Lets go get some breakfast and load up and head back home. I'm damn tired of this cold. I miss Texas," said Steven, throwing on some jeans, boots and a hoodie. We walked to the cafe, stopping a few times to sign some autographs and take pictures. I ate my pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon in record time and got a coffee to go. I headed back to the barn while Steven paid for breakfast and stopped at the local grocery store to load up on snacks for the ride home. I have Harley and Snoopy haltered and walking towards the trailer when I see the short, fat man that gave me issues when we first arrived in Cheyenne, walking towards me.
"I still want to buy your horse," he said, shooting me a creepy smile.
"And you're still not getting him. I guarantee you can't afford him anyways." I said, never stopping walking. That's when he tried to yank the lead rope out of my hand. Oh hell no. Just about that time, Steven walked up, grocery bags in hand.
"Hold them," I said calmly handing him the lead ropes.
"I know you didn't just do that," I said, stalking towards the man who was backing away, eyes wide. "I know you didn't just try to steal my horse. Because if you did, I would get very, very angry. And that would not be good for you. You have five seconds to apologize or you are going to learn what real pain feels like," I said, now centimeters away from his face, my fists balled at my sides.
"Fuck you, bitch." He said, shoving me. I saw red. I brought my fist back, leaned back and then with all my might I swung my fist forward, putting all my weight on the foot in front and my fist connected with his nose with a force that surely broke my knuckles, let alone his nose. He stumbled backwards and I swung again, this time connecting with his jaw. His head jerked to the side and he stumbled even more. With one last punch, right to the left eye, he fell all the way down. Blood spewing from his nose and mouth, his eye already showing signs of a huge bruise.
"No sir, fuck YOU." I said, kneeling down and giving his nose a good pinch. He screamed out in pain and I laughed. Turning back to Steven who seemed frozen in shock, I took the horses and headed towards the trailer without another word. My knuckles are definitely broken, they are already beginning to swell and throb. My daddy always told me, if you get into a fight and you swing first, you better win or you're getting another ass whoopin when you get home. I loaded the horses and made an ice pack with a walmart bag and some ice out of our cooler to put on my hand. I hopped in the truck only to be greeted by a staring Steven, his bottom jaw still on the ground.
"What the hell was that about?" He asked when I remained silent.
"He tried to jerk the lead rope out of my hand, so I whooped his ass." I said, holding my throbbing hand close and gently placing the ice on it. This sucker hurts.
"You sure did! That was so sexy baby!" Steven said, laughing hysterically, pulling out of the parking lot and we headed home.

965 miles, 14 hours later, at 3:30am, we made it to my house. We unloaded the boys into the pasture, filled their water trough and threw them some hay and we jumped into bed, instantly falling asleep. And we slept for what felt like days. I didn't realize how exhausted we both were until we didn't have another rodeo to go to. I curled up next to Steven, my legs laying over his, my head on his chest and I felt a change in me. My life is no longer just about me, it's about us. And I'm ready to start my happily ever after with my Prince Charming who wears a cowboy hat instead of a crown.
