My name is Luna. Luna Ivy Johnson. Us Johnson's are super rich. And white. Please don't put this down, we aren't what you think! We aren't racist, or sexist, or homophobic. Hell, Olive's even bisexual! Anyway, continuing on with this story.
Me, mom, and my sisters arrived at the island to meet Carol, Autumn, and their children. Massie wasn't there so that means, no twins. Everyone exchanges hugs except Rose.
"Don't touch me." She whined. "I don't want salt water ruining my skin." Everyone knew that salt water doesn't ruin skin. Well, not everyone. An infant of toddler doesn't know. But Rose definitely should know. I was about to retort but Rose turned, with a flip of her hair, and walked towards Orchid and her entirely pink room. I had only been in there once for some uncensored reason that I can't even remember, and all I can remember was that everything was some shade of pink. She seemed to have every shade of makeup and eyeliner and she had TWO BATHROOMS! One was a normal one and the other was only used for cosmetic purposes.
She had so many skintight dresses stuffed into her closet and the only thing that wasn't a dress was her pajama's. I remember that she had posters of male celebrity's everywhere. Typical. Me and Willow followed Leo and Cassie to Broken Bridge. We always went to Broken Bridge. We practically had it all to ourselves 'cause mom usually stayed up in Grandpapa's place. It didn't have a name but everyone started calling it Castle Ivory. After me and Willow unpacked out bags (with some help from out cousins) we ran into a spare room and opened the window. No one knew how to get onto the roof except us. It was our hideaway spot, our special spot. Cassie had brought up monopoly, clue, and a deck of cards. That's what we always brought up. We started with clue. Leo was Mustard, Cassie was Peacock, Willow was White, and I was Scarlet. We played games 'till we could faintly hear someone knocking on the door. We quickly finished our game (Leo won, it was Plum in the lounge with the wrench) and slipped down into the house. Carol was standing outside.
"Massie just arrived with the twins. And dinner's ready. Come with me to Castle Ivory immediately." She said.
Castle Ivory was by far bigger than the other houses on the island. Carol pushed through the giant oak double doors at the front of the estate and led me and the others into the giant entryway. I walked with the others through the maze of hallways 'till we reached the dinning room. The twin's were by our sides instantly. So was Massie. We hugged and said the usual stuff like 'it's good to see you' and 'i missed you'. Then we sat down and dinner was served. Autumn instantly talking to the other Aunts and my mom about moving to California. To the exact same city me, Willow, Aurora, Olive, and Jack. That means Leo's coming but Rose is also coming. Speaking of Rose, she was just sitting there checking her red fingernails. She was wearing one of her skin tight dresses and had her blonde hair up in a bun. She had colored her lips a glossy pink that didn't go with her red nails a light purple dress. I returned my gaze and attention to my mash potatoes and salad as the adults droned on about Autumn moving.
Why did she have to move? We're happy without her! Well, I'd be fine with her and Leo but Rose was too much. Maybe she could stay at her dad's? All my Aunts divorced their husbands but my mom had gotten dumped by my dad. I haven't seen him since.
Back on Broken Bridge's roof, all my cousins (except Rose of course) me, Willow, and Aurora were on the roof. Rose didn't know about the roof (thank goodness) and even if she did, she wouldn't come up here because she'd brake her precious nails or brake a heel. It was night and it was clear. Star gazing was a family favorite between me and my cousins. We would always make shapes or words. This time we came up with lipstick, a cowboy hat, a mountain, and an arrow. Then after a while we all went to our separate houses and rooms. Remember what I said about Cedar, Maple, Fir, and Pine? Can't go in there. And the worst part? I walk by those doors every day. Wondering what's concealed in those walls. Is it nothing? Or is this something? Leo, Olive, and Jack were walking next to me. And Jack, being the uncontrollable little prick he is, began talking.
"Hey Luna, remember three summers ago?" He asked.
"Of course I remember three summers ago." I said. "How could forget?"
"I was just wondering, how can you be in the same room as Rose? I mean, after what she did?" Jack asked.
"I don't want to talk about it." I said.
"If I were you," Jack said. "I'd give Rose what she gave me back. She definitely deserves it."
"Shut up!" I said. "Just shut up! I don't want to talk about it!" And after that, Jack went silent. But for how long?
The next morning Rose was applying lipgloss on Orchid's porch. I remembered what Jack had said but brushed it away. Rose was family, even though I hated her so much. I looked away and walked down the beach to Hyacinth where Cassie was waiting for me.
"Ready?" I asked.
"Yeah." Cassie said. "If I'm not, Grandpapa will kill me." I laughed.
"Than hurry up!" You yelled, running towards the path that led up hill for Castle Ivory. Cassie laughed and ran after you.
"Wait up!" She yelled. I looked back and stuck out my tongue. When I turned back around I almost tripped but I regained my balance. Cassie was closing in and she reached out for my arm. "Luna!" She said grabbing my arm. I stopped and looked at her.
"What?"
"I'd told you I'd catch you." She grinned. I grinned.
"Come on, Grandpapa doesn't like to wait."
