Robert quickly jumped out of the window into the garden. He ran towards the garage where the man was bent down near a Mercedes car, examining its tyres. Shortly after he had caught him, Mrs. Robinson, who was now bewildered by all this sudden escapade came running towards them. "Please leave me. Why have you caught hold of me sir? What have I done?", Richard cried in a staggered tone. "Mistress, please tell him to leave me", he said to Mrs. Robinson. "Officer, please tell us what's the matter." Robert looked at Richard. "What made you run away from me? Tell no lie, boy or else you will be in grave trouble." Richard looked at the officer and he could very well see how angry he was. " I- I was frightened on seeing you, sir. So, I walked rapidly in the other direction", Richard replied, now perspiring a bit. "Why were you appalled in the first place after seeing me if you have done nothing wrong, as you say." Mrs. Robinson was listening to every word and watching every changing expression of Richard meticulously after Robert's question. "Well, I will tell the truth. I was afraid on seeing you all of a sudden so I fastened towards that room for it was the nearest. And as I entered the room, my sight fell upon a man puncturing the this car." He paused and looked around to see the expressions of others. Mrs. Robinson was still confused and the officer still wasn't convinced. "So, I quickly jumped out of the window and tried silently making my way towards the garage to get hold oh him but unfortunately I stepped on a dry leaf and it crackled making him alert and he ran away towards the market road over there." Then he pointed towards the car tires and spoke, "Till I had reached the garage, he had also punctured the tyres. Probably he was some miscreant roaming around here somewhere." Richard once again glanced at their faces. "Why were you frightened on seeing me?", Robert questioned him. Richard hesitated for a moment and then replied, "With so many incidences happening lately in the city, I am quite agitated. So, I tried to avoid you from interrogating me." "You wanted to avoid me interrogating you, hmm. So do you have anything about the case worth knowing then?"
Richard spoke calmly. "I know nothing regarding the case, sir, please leave me now." Robert loosened his grip on Richard. "Then tell me, what were you doing on June 15th, 10 pm outside the Robinsons mansion lingering around?" Richard took a minute and answered,"That time oh it was just that my mother wasn't well and had to be admitted to the hospital urgently. My brother was coming in a cab, accompanied by my mother, to get me with them. I was there at the hospital while night and didn't return to the mansion that day." "Yes sir, he had informed us about his mother's sudden deterioration of health and I told him to go look after his mother. He usually stays here in the workers room nearby ourmansion with the rest of our helpkeepers." He looked at the punctured tyre and then again at Richard. "If I get to know that you are lying, you will be in great trouble lad." He then asked Mrs. Robinson for the CCTV footage of the garage and left. On the way to the police station, he was still thinking about this strange case which was on every person's mind in the city and then his thoughts lingered over Richard. Should Richard be trusted or was there something he didn't want him to know. And who was the man, who despite the security at the mansion, had tried to puncture the car? Was he really just a miscreant? When he reached the station, inspector Jack came hurriedly towards him. "Sir, the number from which the parents received the voice messages is registered on a lady's name. And that lady is Mrs. Robinson herself!"
