Switzerland, one of Hetalian's favorite Swiss. (Obviously.) What do we know this guy for? He ultimate neutrality, the fact he likes saving money, or maybe his past with the prim and proper Austria? Yes, these are all important traits of him and should always be recognized, but the main reason I think we love him so much is simply because of his darling little sister.

Now, I think it's pretty darn obvious that Liechtenstein loves her big brother. She's supported by him, cared by him, and has learned a lot from him. As wonderful as it is for her to mature and grow stronger, I think Switzerland actually doesn't want her to grow up.

Let me explain. (I do a lot of explaining, don't I?)

You see, Liechtenstein was once part of this sort of territorial relationship with Germany and Prussia. It's hard to explain really, but just know that she lived with Germany and Prussia before she met Switzerland.

So, when she went to Switzerland , she was completely broken inside and out. But, over time, Switzerland helped her on her feet, loved her, and made sure that she wouldn't disappear like Rome did. He made sure to teach her how to take care of herself, and make her more self sufficient. But during all of that care taking, Switzy started to grow on her. He liked having her around to cheer him up, and to give liveliness to his small country. She was just so small and innocent, he couldn't help but to grow a liking to her.

One day though, while he was thinking of his little sister, Switzerland for some reason started to think about America's revolution. He thought about what he had done to England, and what England had done to America. Switzerland realized their's and his situations were very similar. One caring for the other. One staring loyal and innocent. The younger growing up, becoming stronger, and independent. The younger starting to get ideas, starting to question his authority.

So, Switzerland is terrified of Liechtenstein becoming independent.

It's not that he doesn't want her to become strong,he just doesn't want their relationship to become like Alfred's and Arthur's. Hating each other, misunderstandings, a misprint in history. He doesn't want Lily to hate him because he wants to keep her safe. The world is a terrible place, he knows that. He wants to keep her away from it. He knows it impossible, he knows that she'll want to go outside one day, but he'll push her back for as long as possible.

He often checks himself so he doesn't offend her in any way; so she doesn't get any ideas. He just wants her to just keep being Liechtenstein.

Is that so much to ask?
