Maya had looked as she was busy cleaning up the kitchen while Riley was watching a show on television. She had known well that her best friend was completely smitten on Lucas, but she also knew that she herself had fallen in love. Suddenly she remembered how her life was after her father had left and how much she had struggled to get over not having him in her life. Maya shook her head while it was perfectly clear that love wasn't for her. She had put away the dishes while she made some coffee. Giving Riley her cup, Maya had gone to sit down on a separate chair and grabbed a book to read.

Riley had looked at her best friend who was busy reading. Riley had known Maya all her life and as much as she knew that her best friend was falling in love, she also knew that Maya was scared to face her life as it was. She was the daughter of Katy Hunter and Kermit Hart, yet she had experienced so much sadness due to how that had ended.

"What you thinking about, Peaches?" Riley asked as Maya looked at her best friend.

"I'm just reading. And thinking of how Farkle will deal with this place. And I'm thinking of my mom and how much I miss her. And..."

"Of Josh and your dad," Riley said as Maya bit her lip.

"Don't think like that. I know your life never seems to work out, but it will this time. Just believe," Riley said as Maya shook her head.

"I've knocked my head too much against the same wall. Things will never be the way that they used to be," Maya said as she had continued to read.

One thing Riley knew, and that was that her best friend needed some pushing. She knew that Maya wasn't working on Saturday so she had grabbed her phone and quickly texted her uncle.

Riley - wanna hang out with me and Maya tomorrow? We were thinking of clubbing. If you agree, drag Lucas with.

Riley had smiled as she had put her cup down in the sink and heard a message coming through.

"Peaches, guess what?" Riley asked as Maya looked at her.

"What?" Maya asked.

"You, me, Lucas and Josh are going clubbing tomorrow and no excuses," Riley said.

"You're a lot of work," Maya said.
