William’s mobile vibrated around the table, silencing everyone.
“It must be your father.” Jake said. William took a deep breath before answering.
“Hello Dad.” William mumbled. I could hear his father’s angry voice from the other side but I couldn’t make out the words. “I didn’t kidnap her.” William mumbled and a few of the boys snorted. “Ya. I know b-”He was interrupted by his father. “Dad, calm down. I’m with the guys and yes she’s with me.” It was quite for a couple of seconds before William rolled his eyes and mumbled. “We’re feeding ourselves.” William mumbled. It was quite again before William nodded. “Okay.” He closed the phone and slumped in his chair. “We’ve got to leave.” William turned to me. I slowly nodded and got up.
“See you later Elektra.” Max smiled warmly and I smiled back.
“Bye” a couple more mumbled. I gave them a small wave and began walking outside.
I slowly walked up the porch with William behind me. The whole ride home was silent and William looked deep in thought so I didn’t try saying anything.
“Thanks for the ride.” I muttered as I opened the door. I slowly turned around to find William smiling at me.
“No problem. I like the motor better than the limo anyway.” He said, scrutinizing my face. I felt myself blush and I quickly covered my face with my hair, making myself look like I was nodding as the hair covered my face.
“Ya me too.” I said, still feeling his emerald eyes on me.
“You better go inside, it’s freezing out here.” He said, looking around. I averted my eyes from the ground and to the dark sky.
“Ya.” I hugged myself before I turned back to William. “I had a great time tonight, much better than I would have if I ate raw food.” I grimaced and William burst into his rhythmic laughter. My heart began to accelerate…but in a good way…
“Yes. I guess so.” He said, kicking some snow from his shoe. “So I guess I’ll see you tomorrow.” He mumbled as he looked up.
“Ya.” I smiled. “Goodnight.” I said before I walked in and closed the door behind me.
It was a great night. I thought to myself as I bit my lip. I just hope that tomorrow would be the same…
“Elektra? Is that you?” Dad’s voice interrupted my thoughts.
“Yup” I said as I walked into the living room. Dad was lying on the couch, rubbing his eyes sleepily. “Sorry I woke you up.” I mumbled as I went to sit next to him.
“No, it’s okay. I need to sleep in the bedroom anyway.” She chuckled quietly and I ruffled his messy brown hair. He frowned at me and narrowed his eyes.
“You seem happy.” He said suspiciously I giggled.
“What? Haven’t seen me happy before?” I asked.
“Not…this happy. Was it about the dinner that you had with Mr. Darcy?”
“Well not exactly but it was fun.” I muttered.
