Midnight Paradise

Rest with me,
Take the leaves and cover your eyes for another shiver in my chest,
And then, you can take the flowers and cover your hands,
Evergreen shall be your veins in my homelands.

Lay on your back, it shall be caressed by the grass,
The green bed will comfort you most when you make it last,
And then, as you lay in the glade, humming with the bees,
Sigh softly, as the breeze travels with your needs,
The Sun shall hug you, resting on your cheeks,
As content as you will be, the love will never fly,
So I will tell you when to sigh,
The world is so quiet when I lay by your side.

But then you break the vines and roam,
You leave me in the grass, but the bees too left me alone,
The green blades are stinging my back, and the Sun is now the Moon,
The flowers are dried and the leaves have fallen off my arms,
My breath fogs the sky, there, rises the Moon.

From the sky, only tears are sent,
They fall in my eyes and pour down to my neck,
I am soaked.
It's so very cold now that I am alone,
Now I can see the summer follows you home,
And the flowers are dry on the wall,
They can't hug me like you did back then for a while.

Tell me why,
Why the kisses on your forehead were soft and the piano keys lit the dark?
And why you said the tears are only good for art?
Then you walked me around forever and now I can't say goodbye.

Make me rise off my knees,
Then haunt me and chase me around for my lips,
Make me miss the times we were sleeping sound and nothing could break us out,
The night we met when I knew I can't without.

Your fingers wrapped me in ties stronger than my cries,
The way you sneaked them in silent rivers crossing bridges with my heart,
Then you locked me in your locket, now I squeeze it in my fist,
Then I sleep peacefully when I place it on my lips.

Now you feel low and nights are filled with tears,
I am here.
Lay again next to me and maybe nothing that changed will last,
Kiss my hands again, love is right here in your arms,
Cut the music off and don't explain why,
Reach for me, stay the night.
