Bleak-laces eyes stood wide open, his tail flicked back in forth as the stench filled the den "bleak-lace!" He head ferret-paw yowl, his head jot up and the stench faded away. He didn't know what happened but he was just relieved it was over, ferret-paw trotted into the bramble "I passed! Tomorrow at sunrise I will become a warrior!" The tom jumped up in Excitement "really!?" Ferret-paw nodded and her tail curled in joy.
The clan gathered around high rock with bright eyes, moons ago their had been a battle and things were starting to be peaceful again, it encouraged high tails and wide eyes "hey root-edge!" He called over to his old mentor. Root-edge dipped his head "hello bleak-lace" the tom greeted in return, bleak-lace sat down and noticed the new clan member, fawn-paw, she was a gentle cat to the kits but was harsh and snappy to everyone else, the clan didn't wasn't rely accepting of her and bleak-lace wasn't ether but it was the leader's daughter.
A long time ago when dew-star was only a warrior dew-wing, he had fallen in love with a she-cat, but after some time released his loyalty was in the clan and he stopped seeing her, he later realized she gave birth to one kit which she named fawn-kit, when dew-wing saw her coming to the clan he noticed the bundle of fur and took the kit to raise by request of his mate, ash.
His attention was immediately snatched back with dew-star beginning to speak "today I will announce a new warrior, ferret-paw, she has gained wits, speed, and kindness from her mentor, moon-ear. Ferret-paw, will you uphold the warrior code and protect this clan even with the cost of your life?" Ferret-paw answered with a brave meow "yes" "then by the power of star-clan" the leader said "I announce that from now on ferret-paw will be known as ferret-dash, meeting dismissed" ferret-dash hoped up and ran over to bleak-lace "I'm a warrior!" She called and skirted as she met him "come with me I want to ask you something" he tilted his head but said no more and followed her into the wood.
His paws barely touched the ground, for he was trying to keep up with ferret-dash who was bolting through he forest leaving dust and flowing leaves behind her, finally she came to a stop digging her claws into the ground to prevent falling but her paw got caught on a root, in the mid of her trip, bleak-lace heard a shriek from ferret-dash and his heart lurched {she just became a warrior, what if her first moon is in the medicine den!} panic swelled up in him as he raced over to her, "are you ok!?" He meowed as he crouched beside the brown she-cat "mhm, I think it's only sprained" bleak-lace sighed in relief and ferret-dash got up and barely put her paw on the ground, the tom found obvious confidentness but also a little embarrassment in her gaze. "so, bleak-lace, for a long time I have been your friend and more than a friend in my eyes, I love you and I want to spend my whole life with you, will you be my mate?.". Bleak-lace fixed his gaze at her his pupils slits and his eyes dark, he felt sick inside, he had saw her as a sister and nothing more, what made him feal worse was that ferret-dash's hopeful loving gaze turned to heartbreak and sadness, as her eyes darkened, he began to speak "I'm sorry ferret-dash, your like a sister to me, not a lover" she looked up to him with flat ears "it's-it's ok, you did nothing wrong" she gave a gentle smile and her fur seemed damp to being like this "come on, let's get you back" he said in a timid voice. ferret-dash nodded and leaned on him for balance as they headed back.
"I'll take care of ferret-dash for now, thank you bleak-lace, you may go back to your duties" the tom nodded and headed out. On his way out he bumped into fawn-paw on accident "I'm so sorry!" He yipped "don't apologize! It never did anything to any cat!" Fawn-paw spat "excuse me I-" he was about to make a comeback till for a fox tip her face turned to pure skeleton and back to normal. "Ok" he said in studiers as he dipped is head to her, he felt overwhelmed anger doing that but at the same time just wanted to get away from her and talk about his odd experiences to the leader, "whatever" she hissed and stalked off. As he watched he walk away he swore he saw a deep wound on he tail, but it seemed to be fading and glitchy. He felt suddenly cold as she left his gaze.
