Woo! Chapter one :P

________________

I woke up panting, covered in sweat and trembling at the memory. It had been three years since that night occurred, but it was still as fresh in my mind as the day before. I ran my fingers through my hair, and dragged them across my face.

I was safe.

I was still alive.

I sat up and stretched, releasing a long yawn. I flopped back down in my bed and snuggled into my pillow. My alarm went off. I groaned.

The buzzing noise continued. I groaned as I rolled over, slamming my hand down on the snooze button. My bed invited me back into it's warm embrace, as I drifted off into my dreams.

"Hayden, get your ass up," came floating to my ears. "Never, school is stupid," I shouted back. My door opened, revealing a shadowed figure. "Get up," she warned.

I sighed, rolling over to playfully glare at her. "Never." I protested. Rolling away from the light, I faked a snoring sound. She chuckled and pulled the covers off. Smiling down at me she whispered, "Bacon."

Grinning, I shot up out of bed, nearly smacking her with my shoulders. "Watch it," she teased. I smiled sheepishly, "Sorry mommy." She chuckled at me, and then walked down the stairs.

I turned the light on in my room and picked out my clothes for the day. Satisfied, I ran my fingers through my hair. It was useless. My hair was always a wavy mess. Hobbit hair, that's what I liked to call it. Sighing, I headed down the stairs towards the mouth watering smell of bacon.

I flopped down in a seat at the table, and she handed me a cup of coffee. I wrapped my fingers around the warm mug, soaking up the heat. I took a huge gulp, then yelped in pain.

She laughed at me, "It's hot, I tell you this every morning. Hmm I might think you would learn." I giggled as I threw a balled up napkin at her. It hit her shoulder and she faked a cry of pain, sliding down the cabinets to the floor. We both erupted in laughter.

My brother walked in and stood there staring at us, "What on earth are you two going on about?" He glanced at our mother, still laying on the floor. I stuck my bottom lip out and pouted at him, "Mom's being mean to me!" I whined.

Rolling his eyes at us, he went out of the doorway. "Casey, you're no fun!" I yelled after him. My mom chuckled again, back on her feet. She handed me a plate of breakfasty goodness.

I gulped all of it down before she had a chance to steal my bacon. I jumped to my feet and burped loudly. My mother groaned at my manners. I turned, smiling widely, "My complements to the chef!" I received a glare.

Grinning like a fool, I hugged her tight before I bounded back up the stairs. My smile faded as the approach of school was back in mind. I grabbed my iPod. I put on some music, using it as background noise, before throwing on my clothes, not bothering with the hassle of make-up. I grabbed my bag. As I ran out of the front door, I thought to myself, how am I going to survive today?

* * *

The first part of school was a blur of teachers, homework, and faces of the students around me. I didn't know many people, only simply taking a minimal amount of classes at our local University. Ever since the incident last year, I kept out of sight, and for the most part, out of the way.

Soon I was seated for a lecture about psychology. My favorite.

The high pitched screech of the warning bell sounded, signaling that you had only seconds to get to where you were going. I was sitting pretty far in the back, sighing , I slid further down in my seat. Just then, someone flopped down inthe seat beside me as the final bell rang.
