Vampire Hunter D x Reader

The next time you woke up you were alone and it was night time. You realized since D left you alone, he can't be that far away. Your first guess was he went after Meier in the castle so you quickly went there.

As soon as you reached it you recognized the Castle of Chaythe and remembered that D told you about Countess Carmilla, Meier Link's matron, the night before. Apparently she was a ghost of a vampire who died long ago, her bloodlust was so strong that D's father, an ancient, noble vampire king killed her in disgust.

You quietly entered and after lurking through the long, dark hallways you hid behind a box nearby and saw Carmilla promising Meier Link and Charlotte a travel to a far away city known as the City of The Night, where they can be free to love each other. She said they will in a large and ancient spaceship-like structure hidden beneath the Castle of Chaythe. However Carmilla notes that the ship is old and hasn't flown in a long time, and that she doesn't know if the ship will fly safely, but Meier Link and Charlotte were ready to take that risk.

Now that you had seen everything you immediately understood what actually happened that night. Charlotte hadn't been kidnapped, she willingly ran away with Meier Link because she was in love with him.

While you were still processing that information Carmilla sensed you and sharply turned to you. Before you realized it everything went black.

Then you started seeing visions of your childhood. You saw the most traumatic events replay in front of you. You saw how your parents were killed by vampire hunters by mistake, your adoptive father tiring you to death in training, him scolding you for your injuries and at last you saw how you ran away and the consequences. After that you couldn't take it anymore and screamed while pulling out a dagger from your belt and stabbing your reflection. Everything was normal once again.

What you didn't know was that meanwhile Carmilla also manipulated D's mind, and showed him a vision of his mother, in which she apologized to D for birthing him as a dhampir, and stated that she couldn't help it as she was a human in love with a vampire and tried to explain that humans are capable of loving vampires.

After seeing that her plan failed and you were both still alive, Carmilla turned on Meier Link and Charlotte. She started laughing and said that her plan was to kill Charlotte all along, with the reasoning being that she needed the blood of a virgin to leave her ghostly, ethereal form and return to life.

Carmilla began performing a strange ritual but D destroyed Carmilla's ghost just as she started draining Charlotte of her blood. After that he immediately  engaged with Meier Link in battle, as he remembered his job.

D stabbed Meier Link through the chest with his sword, but not through his heart, injuring Meier Link but allowing him to live. Meier Link fell and you ran to Charlotte, sadly though Charlotte had already passed away due to the ritual that Carmilla performed previously. D picked up Charlotte's ring that fell off of her finger when she fell as proof of her death to bring back to Elbourne then turned to you.

You were crying softly since you and Charlotte were close. D put a hand on your shoulder and said:

"Come on. Our job is done here."

Then he lent you a hand to stand up.
You had no other choice so you took it and let him lead you back to his horse and back to the city.
