We both staggered to our feet. The heat was becoming unbearable. We were like dumplings in steam baskets. We were so soaked in sweat we didn't even care. The river was boiling and was acidic which meant no drinking water. Fomorians were everywhere which meant death was at every corner. "Where does it feel like we are?"
"I don't know."
"How about we guess?"
"I guess, we're seven steps from death."
"Well that's not helpful."
"It wasn't supposed to be anyways." I rolled my eyes and we continued on our way to death- I think. We reached once again, another large metal chamber. It was filled with a small packet of meat or something. We crawled in slowly and looked around. "It's bacon."
"I WANNA EAT IT!" I yanked her back. "It could be dangerous."
"And this entire chamber is." I looked up and saw Rowan beside a very excited Pandora. Must've been excited to kill us. "Here, in this chamber. You'll both suffocate to death."
"Okay, I don't know if you know about this- and it might come as a shock- but there's this thing around us called air." I waved my arms around to explain my statement. "Ah, but Kendra- this is a vacuum chamber."
"That makes more sense."
"It'll suck the air out of you both!" Pandora shrieked happily. "We're gonna go." I grabbed Claudia and began banging at the door. "OPEN THE DOOR OR I'M GONNA RUN UP THERE AND KILL YOU." Claudia screamed at one of the cameras. "Hey, what if some sad giant is up there. You hurt its feelings." The intercom rang. "You're wrong Kendra, it's me watching the cameras." Gray's voice filled the room. "You know Claudia, go wild." I turned to the camera. "YOU MEAN, ANNOYING, DAD-KILLING SON OF A BISCUITT!" The door opened. At the entrance was Gray. "Oh, you're there." He walked up to me. "You have something I want." I looked at his face for a second then slapped him- HARD. Once again me and Claudia were on the run. "TURN THE CORNER." I ducked under tables. Claudia shifted into a dog and was running ahead of me. Unlike her, I could be two things only: Human and a failure. I raced behind stacks of boxes. Another self-destruct button was in view. I picked up a decent sized rock and threw it at the button. "What did you do?"
"Hurry." We ran away from them as quietly as possible while the gasoline sprayed down. Gray, Pandora and Rowan looked confused and spotted us. I pulled out a sparking stick and a spark fell onto the gasoline. It spread around the bottom of the tunnels like ripples. I sent a blast of wind which sent the firing burning up. I grabbed Claudia away. The tunnel burst into flames.
The fires died down after a while. The boxes were filled with glass and were all damaged. "Hopefully, that'll slow them down." I walked away slowly. "Or you just committed a mass murder of three people." I looked at her scared. "I just wanted to slow them down, not kill them." I whimpered at the thought of killing three people at the age of 15. "Please don't talk about that." I closed my eyes. Claudia shrugged. "Well you're one to be heartless, just a few months ago, you were all: No, he's good. You're misjudging him. Now you're just ruthless and almost like you want him to die."
"I do Kendra, he tried to kill me and he killed Cynthia and for gods sake just HAD to chop off Mark's arm."
"He was never after Cynthia."
"Yes he was." I decided not to argue. What I would say will only hurt her more. She walked around avoiding me. "You want to say something really controversial right now."
"Are you dating my brother because he saved your life or do you actually like him?"
"You're gonna ask that question? Right now?"
"Yeah." I sighed. "Both, Claudia." She turned around and looked me in the eye. "He confessed to you like, what? Twice? And you brutally rejected him, calling him 'Just a friend' so what's the truth?"

"I don't know, okay. I'm not in the right mind. We're still stuck here and now is not the time for love life questions." I walked around quietly. "Hurry up." We turned a corner and snuck into a cold room. "It feels like death." I lit a small match and looked around. Bodies. Wrapped in black bags. They had labels on them, either numbers or names. Dried blood was all over the floor. "K-K-Kendra." Claudia gripped my shoulder. "This is what Gray has been reduced to." The shock settled and the thought began to sink in. We were in a room surrounded by corpses. "I turned to the door and opened it to see Rowan. "You." He drew his sword. "See Kendra? This is what will happen to me if I fail to capture you and bringing Mark here."
"You don't have to do this."
"I have to. I can't just go, he'll find me and kill me."
"Let us go."

"I'm afraid I can't do that." He pressed a red alarm button. Fomorian soldiers rose behind him. "We can't keep on running away." She drew her scythe and I picked up my sword. I charged towards him. He side-stepped it. Claudia swung her scythe but missed him. Our swords clashed, sending sparks into the air. He pushed me down and pressed my blade to the ground. I swung my sword up. I don't think I caused that bad of damage, but he had a bleeding gash on his cheek. "Suck it." I grabbed Claudia away from the Fomorians, and we were on the run. "Wait- Kendra!" Claudia fell behind. "I think I broke my ankle." I looked down at her foot. It was beginning to throb and it was twisted in an unnatural way. I could hear and see the shadow of the guards. "You gotta run, Kendra. Gray won't kill me, but they will kill you." I stepped back. "No, come on." She pushed me away. "Just try and come back for me, okay?" I nodded while I ran away.
I ran until I reached the boiling river. At least something looked familiar. I knelt down beside it. I saw a cave in the corner. I hid inside of it- silently waiting. I decided to see if there was a way out. I crawled out and turned around to enter the other way. I could see an opening. I pushed myself through to find myself- in a cell. Wonderful. Another girl stood in front of me. She had braids in her copper red hair. She wore ripped jeans along with a loose khaki t-shirt. Over that she wore a leather jacket with the words: 'DON'T TALK TO ME, I DON'T WANT TO TALK TO YOU. ALSO I'M CELL WARDEN TODAY'. "Uh, excuse me!" She turned around. "Hello?"
"I'm Kendra Waters, where am-"
"We never had Kendra Waters here, I guess Niamh must've put you in."
"So, where am I?"
"You're at the location of one of the last colonies of Fir Bolg."
"What happened to the rest?"
"Killed in battle against the Tuatha Dé Danann. Others fled to Greece and never came back."
"Where are you from?"
"Depends, I was born in Ireland. Blood of emerald runs through my veins." She made it sound so poetic, even though she just meant: I was born here, this is my nationality. "Our leader Starn went to Greece when people were driven away by Fomorians. They grew in numbers while in Greece. However those weak Greeks were scared for their safety and decided to make them carry bags of soil to make their soil fertile. SO THEY RAN AWAY IN A LEATHER BOAT!"
"What the heck?" I stared at her in confusion. "Then they divided Ireland, and then the Tuatha Dé Danann arrived and in a fight which we won. We were only given the province of Connacht."
