The two kids hug each other after all this time. Tears fell from Elvira's face and as Steve notices that, he squishes her hand to comfort her.
"Is that..." Max speaks and Elvira nods
"I never gave up on you. I called you every night. Every night for-"
"353 days. I heard" Eleven tells him.
"Why didn't you tell me you were there? That you were okay?" Mike asks her.
"Because I wouldn't let her" Hopper tells him.
"The hell is this? Where you been?" He asks her, softly.
"Where have you been?" Eleven asks as well, as Hopper hugs her and kisses her head.
"You've been hiding her. You've been hiding her this whole time!" Mike says and pushes Hopper.
"Hey!" Elvira says and grabs Mike to calm him down. Hopper grabs Mike's arm and looks at him serious.
"Let's talk. Alone" He tells Mike and takes him to one of the rooms to explain to him.
"We missed you" Lucas says as both him and Dustin are hugging El "I missed you, too" She says.
"We talked about you pretty much every day" Dustin says.
"Teeth" Eleven says and touches Dustin's mouth.
"What?"
"You have teeth"
Dustin and Lucas smile "Oh. You like these pearls?" Dustin asks and roars, or at least that's what he thought he did. Lucas gives him a weird look, telling him to stop.
"Eleven? Hey. Um, I'm Max. I've heard a lot about you" Max introduces herself with a smile. She gives her, her hand but El just passes by her without taking her hand. Elvira saw that and hugged Max while she placed a kiss on her head.
"Hey. Hey, sweetheart" Joyce says and hugs El.
"Can I see him?" El asks and Joyce takes her to Will's room.
Max sighs and sits down on the couch. Elvira decides to go and sit next to her.
"What wrong, honey?" She asks the girl.
"Nothing, I just...understood completely that she doesn't like me, nor Mike, nor Dustin....nor anyone" Max says.
"Hey, hey!" Elvira says and turns her body to Max's side. She takes her small hands in her own "Look at me. Look at me" Max looks at Elvira in her eyes "You, are amazing and these guys, they like you...a lot. Eventually, they will love you" Elvira says and puts a strand of hair behind her ear "I know they will. And even if they don't, even if you never belong in the party, it's okay. Even if, you never make other friends or your parents or your brother never care about you....I will always be here. And even if you end up with a bunch of people who'll love you, always remember that I will-be...here. Whatever you need. Got it?" Elvira says and Max nods. She wraps her arms around the little girl and kisses her forehead. Max finds comfort in her. She looks up to Elvira, she admires her. And all this time Elvira's hugging her, she thinks how lucky Mariya is, to have her as her sister.
