that night wilbur had been dreaming of so long was actually becoming true, he finally realised as the two met the eyes of one another, both having lighted up in joy.

quackity ran up to the other as he took a quick glance around where they stood, before having pulled the shorter into a tight hug.

it felt like ages they were in that position, hearts feeling like they were going a million miles an hour.

ever so slowly, they pulled away.

'god, did i miss that, did i miss you,' the brit sighed sighs, 'i know it's been like, no longer than a night but i just really, really missed you already.'

the other smiled softly at that statement, a smile that seemed so comforting yet unfamiliar as, not much longer than a few weeks back all the brunette used to be greeted with was a frown.

'tell me about it,' quackity huffed.

he'd been missing wilbur a lot, like a lot a lot, but he didn't want to seem desperate, never told the other he missed him.

but he did.

the taller smiled softly, before having stepped back a bit: 'ready to go?'

he'd spoken, holding a hand out in front of him, that stupid smile still plastered on his face.

the other simply nodded and grabbed the hand with his.

holding the hand of his loved one close to his body, wilbur began walking towards the direction of a few trees that seemed to stand in a circle, they'd been marked with red pieces of cloth and were quite noticeable: 'me and tommy used to run away there,' spoke the brunette, 'when dad got angry, he'd often say things he didn't mean. i wanted to protect tommy so we made our little safe space.'

the pair had left the trees behind a few steps back and were now standing in a green forest.

'jeez, your dad's a dick,' the other responded, before having looked around the green, lush forests: 'and this place is beautiful.'

wilbur chuckled lightly as he watched the other, who, was in absolute awe at the scenery around him.

the bright colour sunset dawning on the two was extraordinary.

the leaves on the trees seemed like they were dancing and the crisp, cold air ran up both of their backs.

'very, pretty,' he added.

'phil has his heart in the right place, just doesn't know how to tell someone he cares without raising his voice.'

wilbur seemed to get sad by that statement, but immediately perked up again, 'and yeah! it's wonderful here all year 'round, an amazing scenery every season!'

the man took a turn right, which quackity followed him in doing so, laughing as he accidentally steps against the other's foot.

the two continue walking along each other's side, grass making way as their shoes pressed against the floor.

accidentally stepping on a flower or two along the way and, still close to each other with their hands in hands, the black-haired took another look around as they were slowly walking.

the air smelled fresh and, tree branches grazed their legs but, neither made an effort to move away from it.

he slowly turned his gaze to the older, who was seemingly focused on finding his way around the forest.

quackity stared at him for a while.

the taller had noticed, but didn't catch himself finding it uneasy or creepy, instead he found it sweet, cute, even.
