Nancy pulled over the covers and Steve's arm which was was wrapped around her waste.She got out of bed and put Steve's hoodie on and her pants. She grabbed everything she brung and walked to her house.
She arrived at her house and unlocked the door with her keys.
Nancy: hey mum.
Karen: who's jumper is that?
Nancy: oh it's Steve's, it was getting cold so he gave me his hoodie to warm me up.
Nancy lied to her mum to stay out of trouble.
She didn't like to lie to her mum but she would rather lie than possibly get in trouble with the police.(not that karen would ring the police on her own daughter)
Monday
At school
Nancy was in the cafeteria and sat next to Steve.
Nancy: have you seen barb recently? I haven't heard from her in a while.
Steve: no I didn't see her.
Nancy turned to Tommy and carol.
Nancy:Did you guys see barb leave
Tommy: who's Barb?
Tommy laughed and so did carol as Nancy looked at them with a serious look on her face
Steve: stop being assholes did you see barb or not!?
Tommy: no we didn't see her leave.
Carol: we also didn't get her leave because all we could hear was "UH STEVE.. STEVE, IUH STEVE!"
Nancy just look at carol as everyone started laughing, including Steve.
Nancy left to go ring barbs parents to see if barb got home last night.
Nancy felt a wave of horror. What if her best friend did go missing and it was her fault? Nancy tried to think optimistic that her friend just got sick and decided to not go to school.
She dialled in barbs house number and her mum answered.
Nancy: hey is barb there?
Barbs mum: uhm no she said she was staying with you tonight.
Nancy: oh.. right.. yeah.. I just remembered she said she was going to the library to.. study
Barbs mhm: oh okay. Please tell her to ring me as soon ash she can.
Nancy: alright
Nancy said trying to hold back tears. The only thing she could think of is that she killed her bestftiend.. those words were running through her mind like a Ferris wheel which would never stop spinning.
She hung up and wondered back to her class.
After school
School ended and Nancy decided to go walk to Steve's house and look for barb there.
When she arrived she checked around Steve's house and walked behind his house stumbling through all the roots and sticks, she stood still and everything went quiet.
Nancy: barb!?
Nancy shouted and hoped for a reply. She felt an uneasy feeling which sent shivers down her spine. She quickly turned around to see a faceless creature. She ran away but tripped over a tree stump and dropped her bag.
She quickly ran and picked up the bag. After about 10 minutes of running she finally made her way back home.
