The gentle drizzle showered them and they ran to take shelter under the bus stop. The chilling breeze wrapped them and the moon was peeping out.
Srishti wanted to dance in the rain or sit back with a cup of tea and listen to some melodies but there she was worried about the package that had been a little wet from the rain.
Adya looked around. "I don't think of any vehicles coming this way. How can we get home soon? I am not ready to hear from grandmother."
Srishti's eyes were still curiously over the package and her hands wanted to tear it open.
Adya grabbed the courier from her. "Actually you must be knowing, it has nothing to do with you."
Srishti rolled her eyes and sat back until a carriage ran down the way.
An ornate yet shining carriage was moving down. The horses were charming but the driver's presence was rarely visible in the dark.
Adya placed the package on Srishti's lap and jumped on to the road as if she had been mad, waving to stop. The horses immediately halted and Adya smiled at Srishti as if everything is possible when the doer was she, herself.
A sturdy fit and good looking lad stepped down. The handsome face with wavy hair stared at Adya with his cocoa-tinted eyes.
Adya smiled as if she had always been too innocent. "Hey, sir you are too young and dashing to be a driver I guess, but can you please drive us to home." She pouted her lips. "Please!"
They were already soaked in the rain while he still kept staring at her. "Us?"
She turned to the bus stop and called out. "Sri! The good sir is going to give us a ride home."
He arched his eyebrows. "When did I say that?
Her pleading eyes showed no miracle on him.
Srishti held the package closer and was heading towards them when the rain slowly moved away. She stood beside Adya who smiled at the man. "Us."
For some moments, Srishti's eyes were locked on the man though she finally moved when Adya snapped. "Let's ride back home."
Srishti denied. "It isn't raining now so may be we can walk back home."
The lad sighed. "Ladies, it is getting darker so shall I take you back home or are you going to walk. Please decide."
Adya nodded but her eyes were on Srishti.
"Then please hop in for I don't want to waste my time."
"That is so rude mister." Adya immediately jumped in without waiting to complete her conversation with Srishti who knew she had to get in for Adya is not going to get down.
Adya extended her hand to help Srishti up and the lad got in. He patted the horse and it neighed as they began to run down the street.
"Where are you both coming from at this time?" He enquired like a responsible elder of the family.
Srishti was facing the road and she was busy staring at the stars.
Adya was very much interested to fall for conversations especially when it's with strangers. "Well, what time is it?"
"Late in the night, of course." He looked back at her and she foolishly smiled. "She is back to the village after so long so we went down to the library, her favourite place here."
Srishti had her eyes glued on to Adya. She whispered. "Have you got anything else to share with him?"
"It's fine, I am not going to kidnap you." He smiled warmly. She returned that unknowingly as if she had been waiting for someone to smile at her like that. "At least not her." He pointed at Adya who rolled her eyes in response.
