I woke up to the sound of my alarm ringing nonstop. I tried ignoring it, but it just annoyed the life out of me. My alarm clock's at my vanity mirror, so it was pretty far away from where I was lying down. I decided to get up and stop my alarm. I purposely placed it there so that I'll have no choice but to get out of bed every morning so that I can't be late for work. I got up to where it was and clicked it so it would stop.
I got to where my closet was and picked an outfit for today. I decided to wear my favorite leggings and a crop top jacket since it was pretty cold today in Toronto. As soon as I decided what I should wear for today, I opened my bathroom door and hopped in the shower. I shivered as the cold water hit my body. "Ahh, damn it, my heater's broken again." I mumbled to myself.
Well, I guess it's time to move to a new apartment. I've been planning to move since this apartment was getting pretty old, and I was tired of my neighbors being loud and screaming like animals every night.
As soon as I finished showering, I hurriedly hopped out of the shower and to my bedroom and quickly put my clothes on since I was still shivering from the cold shower.
"8:03 am; I guess I better get going."
___
On my way to the Cricket Club, I bumped into someone running. I stumble on the ground quite hard.
"Gomen, I'm late for my practice; coach Brian's gonna be mad at me. Are you alright?" He apologized. It was Yuzuru Hanyu. I've been working as an assistant manager for Brian Orser for about a few weeks now, and this is the first time I've seen Yuzuru up close.
"Daijoubu desu. {I'm alright}" I responded in Japanese while picking myself up from the ground. He was a bit shocked when he heard me speak in Japanese.
"Ā, anata wa nihongo o hanashimasu. {Oh, you speak Japanese -according to google, hehe-}" I never really thought that I'd bump into someone like Yuzuru, but here I am having a small conversation with him after I fell on the ground.
"Yep, I do. I was born and raised in Japan." I said in Japanese, and he gave me a slight nod.
(Note: they're speaking in Japanese)
"I see; well, I better get inside before coach gets mad. See you around!" He started running towards the entrance and to the rink.
"Wow, he's cute," I told myself, not being able to process what just happened. I just bumped into Yuzuru Hanyu, the GOAT of figure skating. I know that he trains here and all, but I didn't really expect to meet him so soon since I just started working here.
After processing everything, I quickly walked inside the entrance. Once inside, I saw Brian talking to Yuzuru; he looked serious. As I was getting closer to them, Brian noticed me and turned his attention towards me. "Good Morning, Aina. You're quite early." Coach greeted me.
"Good Morning, Coach! I decided to go early since I'm always alone inside my apartment; I'm not sure what else I should do, so here I am." We both giggled. It's 8:36 in the morning, and I wasn't needed here until 9:30 am, but Coach doesn't seem to mind. It's pretty dull being alone inside an empty apartment, if you ask me. I had nothing better to do, so I decided to go early.
"Alright, well, Aina, this is Yuzuru. I know you know many things about him since you always tell-" I cut him off.
"Coach!" I whined and turned my face around to hide from Yuzuru since I was blushing because of Brian. Yuzuru chuckled and smiled at me.
Of course, I know him we're childhood friends, but that doesn't matter now. He probably doesn't remember me and I really don't mind since he's pretty busy with all the training and stuff ever since we were little. Aina isn't even my real name, it's just a weird nickname that my grandfather gave me.
"I'm just kidding," Brian smirked and lightly ruffled my hair. "As I was saying, Yuzuru, this is Aina Kousei she's my assistant manager. She came here a few weeks ago while you were staying in Japan with your family, and Aina this is Yuzuru Hanyu, I assume that you know him since I've told you a lot about him during your interview."
"Nice to meet you, Aina." Yuzuru reached out his hand so we could shake hands.
"It's nice to meet you as well Yuzuru." We shook hands and gave each other a smile.
________
Yuzuru's POV
I swear I've seen this girl somewhere, she looks so familiar. Her hair was as dark as mine and her eyes are light brown. Her body looks slim yet very fit, her clothes fit her body so nicely she looks gorgeous.
"Uhm Yuzuru? A-are you okay? Is something wrong?" Aina suddenly snapped me out of my thoughts. I didn't realize that I was still holding her hand while checking her whole body out. Damn this is so embarrassing.
"Uhh yeah! I'm sorry I was trying to remember something." I said while letting her hand go.
"Alright you two, I'm gonna get my morning coffee now! See you guys in a bit!" Brian told us and then off he goes to the vending machine.
I still can't stop thinking about Aina. Why does she look so familiar?
"Hey Yuzuru I better get going to my office, see ya!" before she could even walk away from me, I grabbed her arm and lightly yanked her.
"Holy shi- Oh my God I almost said a bad word I'm sorry." I startled her, I didn't mean to.
"No, I'm sorry I should've just called your name instead of doing that." I said while scratching my head quite embarrassed of what I just done to her.
"It's fine Yuzu." she giggled. Damn her smile looks cute not gonna lie. "So, you need something?"
"Yeah- I mean no, I just wanna ask you something." she gave me a confused look but then nodded, signaling me to go on. "Uh have we met before?"
Her smile quickly disappeared and turned into a frown. Her eyes filled up with tears but she managed to quickly wipe them away. Did I say something bad?
