3rd person's POV

The Royal Tutor is a live-in tutor devoted to teaching and educating royals. A post that is bestowed upon only to those who are the very best educators, handpicked from all over the country.

This was the definition that Y/n knew all too well, for a long time... However, never in her life did she think that right now in the middle of the night, she would be seated on her bed, at home, fiddling with a letter from the King of Granzreich, which was addressed to her.

Her mind being somewhere else, and her eyes staring off into space, she finally manages to concentrate again. She decided to read the letter once more, for the last time, to make sure that she wasn't hallucinating or imagining things.

Herr Y/n Sinclair,

As the King of Granzreich, I invite you to the palace as the royal tutor. Over the years, I have been blessed with one princess and five princes. While my eldest son is a fine candidate for the crown, I cannot discount the one-in-a-million chance that an ill fate awaits him.

Thus, I would like to appoint you to tutor his four younger brothers, so that they may be worthy potential successors to the throne.

As I currently see it, they are still unfit to rule, however, to prevent this, I would like you to oversee their studies with equal time and slowly help them grow into promising candidates. This might allow them to rival their eldest brother in worthiness for the crown.

While we are on the topic of becoming the royal tutor, I would like you to know that... I also sent a letter to... him, and I am aware that you two have not seen nor talked to each other for quite some time, but, I have to say that both of you have the ability and influence that I think will be well for my sons... as well as for the both of you.

...In...this regard-

As Y/n was about to continue those last few sentences, she then heard from her window, which was slightly open, that a few water droplets started to drop down. One by one, as they passed by, with a steady speed, that transitioned into hundreds, if not thousands of raindrops.

Worried if there might be a thunderstorm coming, Y/n placed her letter on her bed and quickly closed the window, and just in time, a bolt of lightning appeared in the distance, up in the clouds.

As she turned around, her eyes were glued to her letter and realized that this was certainly not a dream or that she was hallucinating/imagining things. She was about to pick up the letter to read again until she suddenly halted... and hesitated.

She is fully aware that she has always wanted to be able to teach people, just like her brother. He was a tutor as well and she always attended his classes and admired him. She then learned and studied really hard so that she can hopefully become somewhat like him, but she always wondered if she was really capable of doing this.

She had these doubts that piled up in her, that's why she kept reading the letter over and over again, to decide whether she should take it or not.

She was a bit flustered about what to do and started to panic, but she looked at the silver ring which was on the middle finger of her left hand, simply smiled at it, and took some deep breaths.

She cleared her mind for a few seconds and looked around her organized room filled with papers on many subjects, books on her desk and bookshelves, and very few pictures of kids that were friends of hers when she was taught and learned at a church long ago.

She then realized that she worked so hard for a moment like this. She put in so many hours of effort, day in and day out. No matter what, she decided to stay strong about this, and not think about the negatives, but the positives.

She immediately began searching around her room, finding some paper and her favourite fountain pen and immediately started to write her letter to the king. As she was about to write her response, she suddenly remembered what the king said on the paper, and stopped.

"But..." Y/n depressingly said, while leaning back on her chair.

"There is still the matter of him. Being the royal tutor alongside him, this is going to be rough."

She then decided that this was a problem for another day and sat in a perfect posture again to resume writing her letter. Her pen wouldn't stop writing until she was done.

After countless hours of work and effort, and many stacks of crinkled paper on the floor, she perfectly sealed her envelope with some wax, took a quick shower, and headed off to bed.

While in her bed, staring out the window, she drifted off to places in her mind, but above all else, Her last thought before finally going to sleep... was what her life was going to be like from now on.
