Lacey's POV
I'm sitting down at South End on patrol with Mouse and Faddy on my last week of work as a Bondi Lifeguard.
I unfortunately have to move to California because my grandparents unfortunately is currently having health problems and so my parents forced me to make a decision.
It's either I stay here and don't contact them ever again even if it's on an update of my grandparents or I leave here to be a lifeguard at Long Beach in California (which will probably, most likely suck... but whatever 🙄😔).
All of the boys are well aware that I'm forced to leave here as to I had called for a meeting down on the beach eight weeks earlier after work so that I could talk to them about it and help me through it all.
I've gotten in contact with the head lifeguards with the help of Hoppo across in Southern California where my family will be moving to be closer to my grandparents.
If things don't work out in California, I'll be right back here in Australia with my job as a lifeguard like Hoppo promised.
But I doubt I'll like it in California with it not being too crazy like here at Bondi.
I sigh as I lean my head back against the bar behind my seat that I was sitting in the buggy as Luke turns to me as he asks, his eyes filled with sympathy, "What's wrong?"
"Oh, it's nothing. I'm just bummed I'm moving across the world to a whole 'nother place that I barely know. I'm sad that I won't be able to see y'all everyday at work." I reply sadly.
"We can FaceTime everyday!" Mouse calls from above.
"But we have a 19-hour difference though! California would be like 3 in the afternoon and then over here, it would be like... 10 in the morning over here!! You're working then!" I protest.
"What's wrong with the time differences? We could make it work! I'm sure Hoppo would allow us to FaceTime you during our shifts. You have all our numbers and you're in the huge lifeguard group chat with all of us in it. You know we always have our phones on us- technically not when we're in the water, though." Luke says, sympathetically.
I sigh as Mouse bends down from behind us in the trunk, reaching through the seat and rubs my back gently.
Wait a minute there... hold it! I'm sorry for being rude and not introducing myself first.
My name's Lacey Fair, but while I'm working down at Bondi- I go by Star, a nickname that the lifeguards gave me because I'm always bright and positive. I live with my parents, along with my siblings right here in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia right by Bondi Beach. In case you were wondering if I'm an only child, no, I am not. I have two brothers and two sisters- two older siblings and two younger: an older brother who's name is Samuel, who's 28 and a younger brother who's name is Oscar, who's 16 along with an older sister who's name is Olivia, who's 25 and a younger sister who's name is Tate, who's 20. I have been working with the Bondi Lifeguards for quite some time now, ever since I had turned 18- I applied for the job immediately because it had always been my dream to become a lifeguard down at Bondi Beach. Now, I'm 24- that means that I've been working for Waverley Council for six years now.
