3rd Person POV
"So, can I stay here?" Wilbur asked.

Quackity looked Wilbur up and down. something was telling him that he should let his guest stay with him. but logic said he could turn him in and possibly get rich.

an idea suddenly hit Quackity. He could let Wilbur stay for a while and let him help with work. Quackity could relax for a while and then he could turn in the runaway and get enough money to do what he wants.

"yes."

Quackity held his hand out and dropped his tall fork. a smile spread on Wilburs face and he quickly took Quackitys hand.

"you won't regret this!" he smiled.

"sure I won't."

the rest of the day was just Quackity showing Wilbur his house and giving him the run down of the rules.

"in the morning, you have to get up. don't fucking sleep in. you go and milk the cows, bottle the milk, and then we will go to the center of town to sell. you have to stay low because the guards are on high alert. cause me and trouble and I will not hesitate to fucking turn you in." Quackity explained as he milked a cow.

Wilbur watched as Quackity milked the cow. he watched a how experienced his hands were that he didn't even have to look at them. he noticed how worked they were. he noticed how his clothes were worn and permanently dirty. he noticed how Quackity was a visible working man.

Wilbur then noticed how different they looked. how kept Wilbur was in comparison. how pale he was from not having to work outside. how his manners seemed different.

"where are you from anyways?" Quackity asked, turning his back towards Wilbur. "why are they after you?"

"I can't say where I'm from, but I can say this. I'm wanted for no other crime than wanting to live a normal life. I didn't want to marry someone and now- now I'm here."

Quackity hummed as he finished milking his cow. he found it odd how Wilbur didn't say much about himself. but he had the weird gut feeling he could trust he wasn't bad.

"who did you have to marry?"

"I didn't know her. left before I could get the chance. I want my marriage to be for love, not some deal," Wilbur explained as they walked back to the house. "I want to get to get to know the one I marry, and choose who. do you understand?"

"hmm, I do. but now I know you aren't fucking from here. you must be rich for an arranged marriage."

Wilbur only nods and they keep walking. the conversation shifting to the village.

Quackity talked about his life, he explained how his father is a merchant and his stupid milk buissnes.

he told Wilbur how when a cow gets too old, he sells it to the butcher shop and since they are good friends he gets some steak back.

back in Quackitys small home, Quackity cooked up some vegetables from his garden.

he had them cooking in a stew pot and stirred them slowly. stew was a common dish, but Quackity normally would just have bread and some apples from his neighbors. he didn't like cooking so much.

Wilbur once again watched Quackitys movements as he cooked. in Wilburs mind he studied and tried to learn how someone like Quackity did things. Wilbur felt like he had to learn a whole life in so little time.

Quackity grabbed two bowls and filled them with soup and set them down at the table.

"here you go." Quackity said as he dug into his dinner.

Wilbur looked at his meal questionablie. it didn't look like his meals at the castle at all. he didn't feel like this would stop his hunger at all. especially since his missed dinner last night.

"do you have anything... more filling?" Wilbur asked.

"you want some bread with that? and you could get another bowl after. I don't have much else." Quackity shrugged.

"why?"

"don't want to spend a lot becuase I barley have enough. this meal is big as it is."

Wilbur suddenly felt bad for asking and took a bite of his meal without another word. he chewed the vegetables and found it wasn't too bad. nothing like his castle meals but better than he thought. when he swallowed, he looked to Quackity.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude. I'm very thankful you are letting me stay. thank you, Quackity."

Quackity looked up from his meal and gave Wilbur a smile as a response, and went back to the soup.

they ate the rest of the dinner in silence.

when they finished, Quackity handed his bowl to Wilbur.

"hm?" Wilbur cocked his brow.

"I made dinner, so you wash the dishes." Quackity said smugly.

"oh." was all Wilbur could respond with as he took the dishes.

he awkwardly walked up to the sink and turned it on. he felt like he should know how to do this but in fact, he didn't.

he ran the bowls under the cool water and used his hands to scrub off the soup. Wilbur watched as the soup was rinsed away and the bowls looked clean again.

that wasn't so bad... Wilbur thought to himself. he was surprised he did it, and glad he did too.

he placed the wet bowls on the counter and felt like he forgot something.

"towel is on your right." Quackity said.

"y-yes, right." Wilbur grabbed the towel and dried the bowls from any of the dish water.

"well, I'm going to go to sleep. night, Wilbur." Quackity said as he began to walk away.

"wait! where am I to sleep?" Wilbur asked.

"oh... um... would you mind sleeping in the barn again?"

Wilbur remembered the night before. how uncomfortable the hay was, and how cold he was. a shiver went up his spine.

"please, no.."

"well, I guess you could sleep with me." Quackity shrugged.

"e-excuse me?!" Wilbur burned red.

"in my bed, it'll be snug but who fucking cares."

"o-oh..." Wilbur felt suddenly embarrassed. this new lifestyle was beginning to get to him, he thought.

Wilbur followed Quackity to the bedroom. Quackity opened a small closet and handed Wilbur some night clothes.

"there my fathers, should fit you." was all he said.

Wilbur nodded and walked to the corner to change. he couldn't help but turn his head a little to get a glimpse of Quackitys bare skin. Wilbur froze as he watched the commoner change.

he was mesmerized by his new roommates body. something about it made Wilbur feel warm. his heart raced as Quackity took off his pants and changed into sleep ones.

Quackity pulled his shirt on and began to turn towards Wilbur. The prince quickly got back to getting changed and faced the wall like it was the end of the world.

Quackity looked Wilbur up and down once again, kinda checking him out. he liked how tall he was, how he didn't slouch. he looked gentle yet intimidating. it made Quackitys heart race a little.

they both had finished changing and awkwardly got in bed. it was definitely a one person bed and it was tempting for Wilbur to ask Quackity to leave.

but at the same time, Wilbur liked the lack of space. so much so, he scooted a little closer.

"night." Wilbur said with wide eyes as he looked at Quackity.

"night."

Quackity blew out the candle, and they fell asleep soon after.
