Chapter 1

Christina Johnstan. That’s my full name. My friends call me Christa. Yeh, no idea how that got established. Any ways, this is the future. It’s not in runes and we haven’t made hover crafts that run on some sort of fuel. Yet. Here’s a thing about the future, there is no water. If this doesn’t make since reread the last part. No water. The Oceans are almost bone dry. Sadly there are too many people in the world to even to drink the water. Or get near it. The little water we have is guarded by the WBO. The WBO is the Water Bring back Organization. Are adventure starts 5th grade. The water was already almost gone. Mr. John, Mr. J as we call him is tall with black hair and wearing a pale blue polo shirt. Today he was teaching us about the climate around the world and how it affects the vegetation and the people.

“And so that is what the vegetation is in Japan. Any questions?” I sat back in my chair and raised my hand. He looked around.

“Christina?” He said with an irritated tone.

“Why do need to know this again?” I asked. He sighed and shook his head.

“Any other questions?” When no one else raised their hand. He smiled.

“Your home work is to write a description of Japan’s vegetation. Does anyone want to pass these out?” I raised my hand along with John, Kate, Jess and Pete.

“John and...” he looks across the room. “Kate.”

He gives them each half of the pile. After they passed it out, right on time, the bell rings. I sigh relief. Mr. John’s smile vanished replaced with a frown.  This wasn’t the first time that his happiness was cut short. I grab my bag and ran out of the class room with the teacher saying to slow down.

When I got home I did my stupid homework and turned on the TV. What was on what was on was nothing good. I turned it off and waited in silence. I got a ‘Netrowater’, the people who made this was going to be a billionaire. This was because Rose (the name of the founder) found a chemical that was almost like water. The only problem about this was that half of the people can’t afford it. $20.00 a pack of 12oz I can see why. I heard a click and turned around. A man with a black coat and fedora was somewhat looking at me.

“Uh, what are you doing here?” I asked with high brows.

When the man talked it was like saw dust, and broken glass. “You will do it. You might not know it yet but you will do it.” He pointed a gloved finger at me.

“We have trust in you.” With the tip of his hat he was gone.

I stared at the spot where the man was, Hmm, weird I thought. I got a funny feeling but I let it pass. The phone rang, I picked it up.

“Christina?” My brows furrowed.

“Do I know you?” The voice sighed.

“It’s me, Cat. You know….. From the class?” I had no idea what this girl was talking about.

“Nope.” The voice sighed.

“I knew it. They made you forget.” Now I’m really confused.

“What do you want?” I couldn’t help the quiver in my voice.

“Do you remember anything about the real water?”
