Leighton and Phillip Brooks were supposed to take on WWE together. It was how the siblings had always been; they fought their battles side-by-side. However, while the WWE accepted CM Punk's negotiation to take both him and his sister, Rebel was running out of time.

Rebel didn't fit the mold of the Divas Division. She was strong, fierce, and a metal head. She also knew how to wrestle just like the guys—and this era wasn't for women's wrestling. So, Rebel accompanied her brother down to the ring and in his storylines, but nothing else, putting a major strain on her relationship with Phil.

Needing a plan, and fast, Phil proposed the idea of a faction helping the duo fight their battles. He had been watching NXT and decided on three men that were approved by the suits and ties. With the introduction of The Shield, the audience would not only fall in love with them but every storyline they followed; bringing Rebel into it.

Phil hadn't realized how much would change when his idea would come to fruition; and while he loved watching his sister thrive in her new role, he was losing her in the process. All he had ever done was protect her—could he be the reason she gets hurt after all?

With the company continuing to hurt Phil at every turn, and Leighton growing into a woman that her brother hadn't known, Leighton will face obstacles that she wasn't sure she could fully overcome. With her best friend, brother, and newfound family at her side, will they divide or help her conquer?
