DEVON
PRESENT
I open my eyes as the beaming sun peeks through the white blinds. it is rare for a sunny day at the end of December. I groan as I think about getting up. I stretch in the comfort of the huge king bed. the fluffy white pillows feeling like your sleeping on clouds. I love days when i do nothing but lay in bed all day. It's when I feel most at peace. but today is not the day. I have a lot of things today.
getting up, I slide off the massive bed as I head to the bathroom. the bathroom large enough to fit my childhood bedroom in it. I step into the cold marble floors, a shiver running through my body as my bare feet hit the floor. approaching the sink as i stare into my reflection. my soft curls from yesterday are still present. my skin looking unusually pale. I guess it was from the jet lag. I reached for the new toothbrush that the maids had placed there along with a toothpaste. I wetted the brush as I poured some toothpaste over the brush. I brushed my teeth for a while. finally rinsing my mouth. as I reached for more water to rinse my face with. grabbing the warm white towel from the warmer rack as I dry off my face with it. throwing the white towel on the counter as I walked out of the bathroom. reentering the bedroom as I looked for my purple long robe. it was my favourite. I walked to the vanity where I spotted my robe. grabbing it and throwing it on. time to head down. I closed my bedroom door as I stepped into the big hallway that consisted of 7 bedrooms, the master being mine. the hallway is decorated with all of my favourite art pieces. I neared the stairs as it overlooked the foyer. stepping down the stair as maids rushed around the house. thanks to Farah, we had hired everyone from the housekeeper to the gardener. it was nice to relax before everything would go south. I entered the dining room. the table was full of amazing breakfast, Farah already waiting for me.
"Morning!" she said, giving me a smile. she was always quiet and sweet. I wonder what would crack that? what was she hiding? here I was analyzing the poor girl. while she was older than me by 3 years but it didn't make any difference. I swear she still looked like she had just turned 17.
I nodded at her as an acknowagement. seating myself at the head of the table as she stood to my right with an iPad.
"ok so today you have a fitting for the new years party of course," she said as she checked off the fitting of the board.
"oh and also you have an online meeting to attend to in...45 minutes," she said checking her clock. I nodded as I grabbed the green tea and sipped the steaming tea. I much preferred green tea over coffee just simply because coffee gave me a headache. it was weird because every time I would drink it would make me nauseous.
"when is Stella gonna be here?" I questioned, leaning over to my right to grab the jam. stella is my stylist and personal friend. she is one of the sassiest and most fashionable people i know.
