Alexis had stayed in the car while Nancy and Jonathan went into the station to grab their supplies, praying that they wouldn't get caught.

Once they had everything loaded, adding a fire extinguisher to the mix, Alexis sped to the Byers home.

The next few minutes were a frenzy. Screwing all the lights back into the sockets, setting up the bear trap, Alexis helping Jonathan make their spike bats while Nancy loaded her revolver, pouring the fuel trail. It was a lot, but it seemed the time flew by.

Alexis couldn't help but feel guilty for leaving the kids, specifically Eleven, at the school. She knew this was the safest option for them but it still made her feel bad.

Finally, it seemed the three were ready to lure the monster. They stood in the middle of the living room, all facing each other.

"Remember-" Jonathan started reviewing the list of steps.

"Straight into Will's room and-" Nancy answered.

"Don't step on the trap," Alexis added, a nervous chuckle leaving her lips.

"Wait for the yo-yo to move," Nancy stated.

"Then," Jonathan finished, bringing up the lighter to show the final step. "Alright." They looked at their hands, doing this step together.

"You ready?" Alexis asked, able to hide the fear in her voice.

"Ready," Nancy nodded, followed by Jonathan. They brought the knives to their palms.

"On three," Jonathan told the two.

"One," he started.

"Two," Alexis continued, looking over at Nancy.

"You don't have to do this," Jonathan told the brunette.

"Jonathan, stop talking," Nancy told the boy with a shake of her head.

"I'm just saying, you don't have to-"

"Three," both girl interrupted, prompting all three to slice their palms. Alexis winced at the feeling, never having had positive feeling about knives in the first place.  The house was silent, none of the teens wanting to risk making noise. Alexis watched the blood pool in her hand, it was almost mesmerizing in a  morbid kind of way. They let the blood drip onto the carpet, hoping that it would help lure the monster if it was soaked into something.

Alexis wrapped her own hand while Nancy and Jonathan helped each other. She loved the two, but didn't really trust them to wrap up wounds anymore. Hopper said that Jonathan had done a shit job with her ankle and proceeded to show her how to do it well. His words, not hers.

Alexis leaned against the wall, tapping her foot and biting her fingernails in anxious anticipation. All three teens perked up when they heard a creaking noise from outside.

"Did you hear that?" Nancy asked. They stayed silent for another moment.

"It's just the wind," Jonathan told her, causing Alexis to relax a small bit. Nancy hesitantly went back to wrapping up his hand.
