Chapter 3
We're on our way to the hospital, and I'm feeling dizzy and lightheaded. He keeps looking over me, I'm feeling a headache, there's just too much going on at the moment.
I ask him if we were going slow, or if it was just me.
He was calm about it, "Don't close your eyes or sleep, I need you to point out things you can see and smell in the moment." I was confused but I was following his orders.
I can see my eyes reflection from my glasses, "I see my reflection and smell your vanilla cologne," I sounded so stupid, but I wasn't trying to flirt with him at all. I continued naming some things I see passing.
"Okay, okay, good." He replied.
"I see a bank and smell .....meat?" My vision began to fade into black, and I was trying to nudge Harrison but I felt weak and my body felt funny and sore.
I began to quietly laugh, I just couldn't stay awake anymore. Harrison was trying his best to be careful while driving so nothing happened to me.
"Funny story to tell your kids, am I right?" No way did I just say that.
I need to shut up.
He looked at me so confused but changed his face within a second. "Hey Diana, don't close your eyes, the hospital is less a mile away." I can see the Parking lot with a whole bunch of cars with an ER drive thru, this hospital looked familiar, that sentence was echoing through my head.
Crap.
I instantly woke up and shouted "oh crap!"
My head did start to spin from the fast movement. Harrison was lost, "What's the matter with you, are you okay? Did you make it deeper than it was?"
I replied with aggravation, "No Harrison, this is where my father works, and if he finds out that I got cut or worse entered with a boy by my side I might as well dig a grave for the both of us!" I felt dizzier than before.
"Wait, what- why?"
"You know, your not first boy that I've hung out with.." I replied with anger.
"Well, hell, I won't ask you what happen!"
I immediately felt terrible after, "I'm sorry! I just don't want him to chase you off like the others." I apologized because I knew he was trying to understand.
"Alright well, we need to get you in there before you lose more blood than you can hold." He finished his sentence with smirk and his dimples showing.
We had to come up with a excuse that didn't include Harrison's name, or else I was gonna be in trouble with my dad.
"I can say I was riding my skateboard and I ran over a rock, fell onto a piece glass that scraped across my hand. It wouldn't be the first time anyway," I laughed knowing that skateboarding does nothing but give me cuts and bruises.
"I don't understand, why you cant just tell him the truth, it'll do you no good to lie to him." He acts like he's never lied.
"And you've never lied before? And I would be doing something good, keeping you alive to see me later."
Okay, now that was flirting.
I hop out the car, closed the door. I told Harrison, "Thanks for driving me to the ER."
The side of his lips curled and he was trying to hide the fact that he was blushing. He was trying to but it was obvious, "It has been a pleasure being at you service, m'lady." Making his accent stand out even more.
And I made my way to the ER entrance with a tingling sensation in my stomach. And not the good one either.
