Octavius
The evening breeze had changed its cadence. Winds of benevolence wafted through the royal grounds, disturbing the leaves of the tall trees, making the silage dance to the new rhythm, bringing a cleansing touch.
Everyone held their breaths. Hoping.
Realizing the significant event taking place, in a joyous choir, howls and growls were directed to the bright moon above, filling the air around them with new hope.
The unmated warriors of their packs were rejoicing, shifting to their wolves, welcoming the gift in their true nature.
Surveying the grounds before them, the leaders lifted their heads to the night sky.
"Can you feel it?" Octavius was shifting between his human and his beasts, despite knowing there was no threat, he was always alert.
The first part of the prophecy was fulfilled.
Excitement course within him, sending goosebumps all over his sensitized skin. He had never known such feelings before.
"Yes," East gazed around the dark night in wonder. "They have consummated the bond. The curse brought by the Oracle has been lifted."
"Do you feel our soul? There's a flare of light inside me! A beacon!" Alpha South grinned at them. "I feel alive. I feel my mate."
"She is out there. I just need to find her." Though North's words came out in deep growls, his friends understood him.
Octavius sharp gaze went to Alpha West standing far from their group. He was more distant than ever. "What is happening? I haven't felt the full potential of your beasts since you arrived. They are absent now."
"I am being punished." The youngest Alpha said. His jaw clenched tightly.
"What did you do?" Logan East asked skeptically.
"I committed the gravest of sins." West said, his eyes trained on the ground in shame. "I've fucked my way in the human world. My beasts hated those women, they abandoned me."
The rest of the Alphas growled in frustration. "How could you forget, West? It has been drilled to us since we were pups!"
"Min kung will be livid. The rules are there for a reason. Not to suppress our lusts but to keep our beasts untainted. Our line has been kept pure for centuries. You broke the law." Octavius was not pleased to say the least.
"I know." He stated bitterly. "I was a fool not to trust the prophecy."
"Do you have bastards outside the matebond?" South hissed.
"No. Never. I always wear protection on my one-night stands. Always made sure I didn't cum inside the women I bedded." West assured his fellow Alphas. "I was never in a committed relationship. Not even once."
"Please tell me you have stopped." North asked, his hands clenched into fists not believing that one of the most powerful Alphas was more human now because of his stupidity.
Alpha West shook his head yes. "I haven't been with anyone since we came here. I stopped after my last. That was three months ago."
"Can you swear celibacy until you find your mate?" East questioned him again. They had to set this right. Their friend needed guidance among other things.
"I already did. I am not a sex addict. There were times I just felt so lost. So alone." He was really regretting his mistakes. "But my beasts are still against me." West admitted. "They don't forgive easily."
The Royal Beta sighed heavily. "We need to tell Constantine. He is the only one who can call them forth."
"I know." The punishment would be severe but he could take it to wash away his sins.
