Recently my school switched to the "Night Study System." They did a study on the students in the school and found that most were awake and active during the night instead of during the day. I, on the other hand, am active during the day. This new switch for me is completely stupid. I don't see why we have to go during the night, and why we didn't keep the system that already worked for so long. But there's nothing I can do, so there's no use complaining. And today, well, technically tonight, I start my first day of all-night school. As I walk into the school, I notice how different it is already. In place of sunlight filtering through the windows, there's moonlight cascading across the floor and up the walls. Students, either tired or wide awake, wander through the halls to their classes. Even the teachers look like they dread teaching at night. I make my way to my class, and I'm shocked by how much it seems to have changed, just by going to school at night. The room is dark, the only light in the room is that of the moon high above us. The whiteboard is wiped clean, and the chairs are filled with kids laying their heads on the desks. A few are busy doing other things, either looking out the window or talking to their friends. I try and adjust to this, but I think it's going to take a lot more time. Then I find my seat in the back and lay my head on the desk too. The only thing I can think right now is goodbye sweet sunshine, and hello cold darkness.
