Akari's POV

As soon as things were settled in the hospital, I headed to the exit to head back into the village. I looked around and noticed that the barrier had disappeared. I jumped next to Kakashi and my eyes widened at the scene in front of me. Kakashi stepped forward to console Asuma who just stood lifelessly, staring at his late fathers body.

ANBU handled lord thirds corpse while we were dismissed for the time being. The village was under a gloomy atmosphere and that included Kakashi. We wordlessly passed each other on the way to the apartment.

~Time skip to the funeral~

We all stood in silence in the rain as we mourned the third Hokage. I was able see Naruto stepping up to comfort Konohamaru, not trying to show tough. The rain came down slowly as the cemetery cleared out. Team 7 left as soon as the funeral was over and I searched the apartment for any sign of Kakashi finding none. He's probably with Asuma. I thought opening a scroll I've been working on for the past couple of days.

It was a seal to break the curse mark, with a small addition of the sharingan the seal can be finally broken. Leaving the scroll down, I picked up two books about medical ninjutsu and herbs, also taking out a copy of test reasults, to which I've done a couple weeks ago on Itachi. Halfway into my work my eyes closed the exhaustion of yesterday hitting me on the full blow.

I was startled from my sleep to the sound of the door being flung open. "Anko, what are you doing here." I asked putting away the Kunai I took out to attack. "I managed to get something out of the Uchiha kid, about a jutsu to destroy the curse mark, are you sure you know what you're doing." She said and I threw the scroll to her. "Can this actually work." She asked looking into the contents of the scroll. "Itachi's Susanoo is quite strong, and the sword he has can extract Orochimaru's soul from the mark, and seal at the same time." I explained and Anko nodded.

"Look I just didn't want you to........" She trailed off and I understood what she was going to say. "I'll be fine." I said glancing at the clock and noticed that it was already eight. "Come to think of it have you seen Kakashi anywhere." I asked Anko and she nodded. "Gai said something about him being at the training ground." She said and I thanked her heading into the room to change into my ninja clothes.

I walked out of the house heading to the training grounds only to find it empty. "The memorial stone." I said to myself shun shining to the location. I found Kakashi crouched down near the memorial stone. "Kakashi." I said crouching down next to him. "Kashi." I lulled him as there was no response. "Come on lets get you home." I said and managed to get Kakashi to stand up. I turned him away from the memorial stone and Kakashi pushed my back turning back to the stone.

I moved in front of him cupping his face and lifting it up slightly so our eyes would meet. "Hey, what's wrong." I said as I noticed he's been crying. "I- I tell team seven t- to value their comrades or th- they are worse than t-trash, I-I'm worse than trash." Kakashi stuttered out. "Oh Kashi, your not trash." I said trying to sooth him and Kakashi just shook his head. "Listen to me Kakashi, you are not trash, you value your comrades more than anyone I know. So you are not trash and will not be trash." I said a bit stern and Kakashi looked at me surprised. "And come on, if you stay out in the rain any longer you'll get sick." I said gently, tugging on his arm and he followed.

"Akari, I-" "Stay still, you soaked through the bandages." I said cutting Kakashi off. Kakashi sighed taking my hands into his which stopped me from wrapping new bandages. "I'm fine kari." Kakashi said holding back his shivers. I sat down next to him on the bed wrapping a blanket around Kakashi. "What actually happened?" I asked and Kakashi slouched more than he usually did. "I really don't want to talk about it." He said burying his face in his hands.

"It's okay, you can tell me whenever you're ready." I said pulling Kakashi into an embrace. "Come on, lets get some sleep." I said as I felt a yawn. "Good night Kari." Kakashi said pecking my lips and I smiled cuddling him.

"Hey Sasuke." I said waving at him as we walked towards the tea house he was next to. I stopped feeling a dark and familiar chakra. Kakashi bumped into me snapping me out of my trance and we walked together acting like we didn't notice anything different. Why is here, and why now. I thought as I saw a piece of designed cloak underneath the cloth covering the tea house.

"What do you want Kakashi?" Sasuke asked monotone. "Why don't we go get a Dango or something first." Kakashi said looking up from his book a little. I noticed the cloaked figures disappearing and I looked to Asuma and Kurenai who also noticed it. We nodded and they rushed to the roof tops. "We'll discuss things later Sasuke, can you go find Itachi and tell him to come to our apartment." I said and Sasuke nodded lazily. Both Kakashi and I ran up the roof top hurrying to the location. "It's him." I said as we rushed towards the location. "Are you go-" "I can handle in." Kakashi interrupted me as we landed right next to Asuma and Kurenai.

"What do you want from the leaf?" Asuma spoke to them while I looked at Obito. We split up into pairs facing off each member of the Akatsuki. Kakashi and I teamed up to fight Obito, while the other two went to fight the fish looking member Kisame. "Drop the mask Obito, every jounin in Konoha already knows who you are." I yelled at him moving into fighting stance. As I was about to move into an offence, a hand stopped my movements. "Akari, this is between Obito and me, can you just wait this one out." Kakashi said and I nodded even if I was hesitant about his plan.

Kakashi ran at Obito clashing their Kunais and I stepped back to assist Kurenai and Asuma. "His sword is one of the shinobi seven, and it can suck up your chakra." I said as Asuma's chakra blade was drained. "Kakashi wanted to fight on his own." Kurenai asked and I nodded to her. Asuma moved out of the way giving me an opening to attack. I moved forward using my chakra as a lever myself into taijutsu. I punched Kisame who smirked blocking me with the sword. His smirked vanished realising that my punch wasn't chakra enforced but was a wind style jutsu.

I heard a splatter and my attention moved to Kakashi. My heart stopped seeing that Obito was holding a Kunai which was inside Kakashi's side. Kisame took advantage of my distraction and hit me with the sword making me move back wincing. "Akari." Kurenai shouted as she helped me up. "You have to interfere, no matter what he says." She spoke glancing at the scene.

And cut, that's a wrap!

Yeah, a little unfinished business to be continued into the next chapter. But believe me it will be worth the wait.

Ohh and as for a matter of fact I never had plans to save the third Hokage, he was just too much of a drag.

See you on the next chapter : )
