Ensin laid Childe down on his bed and rubbed his head before he left the room to meet up with the traveler downstairs. Ensin's home was at the deepest, darkest, part of the chasm. It was protected by his own vision.

The traveler was tapping his left leg repeatedly. Paimon pressed her hand to his shoulder. Xiao and the traveler's hand were intertwined with each other. Ensin walked down the steps and made his way into the living room. The traveler looked up and looked at Ensin with worry keen in his eyes.

''He's currently changing right now, so it'll take him a couple of hours for him to wake back up,'' Ensin said sitting across the traveler.

 ''Who are you, why did you help Childe?'' Paimon asked floating in front of Ensin. Ensin smiled and replied;

''He was my pupil 5 years ago,''. Paimon gasped and the traveler eyes lit up. ''He was wonderful pupil, and a wonderful help around the house,'' Ensin pointed out.

''Can you help him?'' The traveler asked.

''Could you help him not change?'' The traveler whispered the last part. Ensin shook his head and stood up.

''I'm sorry I cannot help, Childe, and if I did, I would consider it, but I have no control over his changing,'' Ensin explained.

''Now if you don't mind, I'll be leaving now,'' Ensin turned to go.

''WAIT, where are you going!'' Paimon exclaimed. Ensin stopped at the doorway.

''Away, away from Childe, away so I can never hurt him ever again,'' Ensin mumbled a little.

''What did you do to him?'' Aether asked as he pulled out his sword. Ensin glanced over his shoulder and met eyes with Xiao's eyes.

'' I didn't hurt him physically, but I broke his trust I know damn well I should never show my face around him ever again,'' Ensin sighed.

''How did you break Childe's trust?'' Xiao asked while he crossed his arms. Ensin leaned against the doorframe and answered.

''I left him, when he saw the true side of me, and never wrote to him,'' Ensin mumbled again.

The traveler's body relaxed and looked at Ensin.

''He would ask me why I left, why I stepped down from my position in the Fatui, why I swore to myself I would never show my face to him ever again, but I showed my face to him know I must erase that,'' Ensin stated darkly.

The traveler gasped and gulped. He was once part of the Fatui probably had connections with the Cryo archon herself.

''Your energy around you is kind, and gentle, how on in the name archons were you part of the Fatui?'' Xiao asked not expecting an answer from him. Ensin's eyes drifted to the side, and he turned and faced the traveler/ Xiao.

''I was part of the Fatui, because'' Ensin started then he stopped, and his eyes became dark. Paimon floated a little way toward Ensin.

''Because I,'' Ensin pushed up his glasses a bit. Xiao looked sternly at Ensin. The traveler had a look of empathy in his eyes.

''Do you not remember why you were in the Fatui?'' Paimon asked bringing voice into the room.

Ensin breathed in sharply, and he pressed his temples.

''No matter how much time I spend on trying to remember why I joined, it's just blurry, fuzzy, discombobulated vision,'' Ensin mumbled in defeat. The traveler walked over to Ensin's side.

''It doesn't matter, I need to fix something,'' Ensin grumbled and walked away from the traveler. The traveler reached out but pulled his hand back. Ensin walked up the steps to the room where he was keeping Childe.

He opened the door and saw Childe still asleep and his chest rising, falling rapidly. Ensin closed the door and walked over to the window and slid the curtains open. Ensin looked down at his young pupil. His head moved a little, but his body was still.

Ensin sat next to Childe and looked at him with pitiful eyes. He knew he couldn't stay for long, but he wanted to stay. Ensin reached to touch Childe, but his hand turned red. He pulled back and held his wrist, his nails extended. Ensin groaned a little and closed his eyes.

This has been ever since the beginning of the week. It must just be a coincidence. Ensin looked at Childe and he felt guilty for leaving him, but he left him when he was 18, he was an adult that was just fine.

Was it really, he wiped his memory totally clean of what he saw that day?

''I can't be in his life, again,'' Ensin reminded himself. Ensin started to stand then Childe's hand grasped his wrist. Ensin gasped and tried to pull away. Childe looked at Ensin. Ensin stiffened and looked at Childe. Childe eyes squinted and looked straight at his mentor.

''Ajax, let go,'' Ensin pleaded when he looked away. Childe tightened his grip.

''Please kill me,'' Childe whispered. Ensin eyes sharpened and looked directly at Childe. ''No Childe I shall not kill you,'' Ensin pulled away from Childe. ''Please, the traveler won't kill me, and he'll order Xiao not to kill me, please you can at least do that since you left me,'' Childe remarked. Ensin stopped at the door and pressed his forehead to the door.

''I'm sorry, Ajax, I never wanted to leave you,'' Ensin mumbled.

Childe sat up and got off the bed.

''Why aren't you apologizing to my face,'' Childe growled lowly. Ensin mumbled something inaudibly and still didn't face him. Childe was getting angry, and he walked toward Ensin. Ensin spun around and face him.

Childe stopped in his tracks and saw his mentors face. It was soft and full of sorry.

''I'm sorry, Ajax, for leaving you, and for making you forget everything you saw that day, but I must do it again,'' Ensin held up his hand. Childe moved with such quickness Ensin didn't get to snap his fingers. Ensin fought against Childe and pushed Childe against a wall.

Childe grabbed Ensin's wrist and twisted it behind his back.

''Why are trying to make me forget, what did I see that day?'' Childe asked trying to keep a hold of Ensin. Ensin struggled and tried to get away, but Childe was a lot stronger, now that he was a vampire.

Ensin used his delusion anemo to knock Childe into the wall.

Childe yelled out in pain Ensin fell and tried to get back up. Childe made a hydro arrow and threw it at Ensin (not intending to hurt him). It hit Ensin's wrist and nailed him to the floor. Ensin yelled out in pain and tried to get the arrow out of his wrist. Childe walked little ways toward him then got hit by a smell.

The smell of blood.

Drool came from Childe's edge of his mouth, he wiped it realizing; he was starving. Ensin was able to get the arrow out of his wrist. It was bleeding pretty badly. Childe felt his eyes dilating on Ensin's open wound. Childe slowly and reached out for Ensin.

Then the room door busted opened before Childe could get remotely closer to Ensin. Xiao pinned Childe down with his polerman , Childe growled lowly. Aether ran over to Ensin.

Ensin looked at Childe and whispered.

''I'm so sorry Ajax, what have we both become?''
