"Nat look at what I found!!" Adriana screams at me. I look away from my locker to see one of my best friends, Adriana Baez-Cardona, running toward me waving her phone around.

"Nathalia look at this! I was going through my gram and you remember Claire?"

"Uhm... Oh, Claire from that singing class we took in 7th grade?" I turn back to my locker looking for my math notebook and pens. Where is this going?

"She messaged me and she said that her high school is doing an open mic thing for kids outside of the school!" she says, I give her a side glance and see that she's jumping around like a puppy.

"An open mic? Adri, no, I know where this is going and I'm not going to do it," I say hoping it gets through to her, hoping she doesn't tell Sanihyra. "I don't want to do anything that involves getting on a stage and singing in front of people, especially random people from a school I don't know."

"Aww please, Nat you're such a good singer, plus if you don't do it I'll just go grab Sani," she says smirking with her last words. This is what I didn't want, touche, but it still blows.

Speak of the devil, here she comes, Sanihyra Smith, my other best friend. Adriana and I have been best friends since the first grade but Sanihyra and I met in 6th, I then introduced her to Adri and we've been a trio since then. Although I have stronger relationships with each one than the others have together, if that makes sense.

"Hey, Adri! What's up Nat?" she says with a smile, I love her smile.

"Nat won't do this open mic thing that I've already signed her up fo-"

"Wait, hold up, what?" I say with shock and growing anger. "You've already signed me up?! Adri come on, what the fuck, you didn't even ask?"

"I knew you were going to say no and I also knew that we were going to make you go anyways, I'm just speeding up the progress." She says with another smirk, bigger than the last.

I hate them so much, I mean I love them, but they can be infuriating.

"I'm no-" I start.

"You're doing it, Nat. And that's final, we'll take the bus there together right Adriana?" She says with a smile, although this one had a more devious glow about it.

"Ugh, fine. You guys are the worst"

"We know you love us," they say in perfect unison, it's annoying but I can't help and laugh at them. I wouldn't trade them for the world.

I head over to the showers and try my best to hurry up, I want to catch Mr. Adams before he leaves.

Maybe I should've left practice early, then I wouldn't have to wo-

"Hey Robinson, hurry up, I got a girl waiting for me" Shouts out a teammate, knocking me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah, sorry, I'll be getting out soon," I say back. Some of my teammates are annoying, I'm sure his hoe can wait a few minutes.

I finally make it to Mr. Adams' classroom, out of breath for sure. I knock on the door and hear his voice.

"Come in."

I walk in and see him writing on the board about something, most likely tomorrow's assignment.

"Ah, Mr. Robinson. How may I be of assistance to you?" He says with a smile, he's always been there for me.
