Its Sunday and I am freaking out, as every hour goes by I get more and more nervous. I've decided to go with an original I wrote a few months back but that just made me more nervous. What if they don't like it, that'll just mean I'm destined to never achieve my dream and probably work at Mcdonald's forever sulking as everyone I know becomes successful.

This is stupid, my friends are right! I'm going to do great and nothing is going to go wrong. I nod, reassuring myself that this is all true as I sit down at my piano. I learned to play the piano when I was about 9, I've always had a love for music, and wanting to play the piano was natural. After my piano teacher retired I saved up all my money so I could buy my own piano. Ever since I've been writing music and playing it for my friends and family members.

I start to play a little melody when my phone buzzes (it scared the living shit out of me) I pick it up and see that it's Steven.

I don't have time for that right now, I'm busy. I put my phone down and let it ring, I'm a terrible person.

I'm currently struggling to pull a beanie chair through the door of my room. Claire is coming over so we can rehearse since the open mic is tomorrow.

Maybe she can just stand?

A knock at the door pulls me out of my thoughts. I look at my watch and see that she's a bit early, always punctual I think as I make my way to the door.

I open the door to a beaming Claire, smiling up at me. I smile too, it's simply contagious.

"You ready?" I ask.

"Yup, let's do this!" She says enthusiastically. "Lead the way Jayden"

"I thought I told you to stop calling me that," I say raising my eyebrow

"Who's going to stop me?... Jayden" She replies with a smirk. I return it and pick her up over my shoulder.

"I guess that'll be me then?" I say to her laughing

"Jay put me down! I won't call you that anymore" she whines punching my back, I put her down laughing, and start making my way to my room.

"Alright let's try the ending one more time and I think we'll be good," I say. We've been rehearsing for about an hour and fifteen minutes now. We've made amazing progress, Claire and I will blow up that entire open mic tomorrow.

If you love me won't you say something

If you love me won't you?

Ooh

If you love me won't you say something

If you love me won't you?

Love me won't you?

"Claire that riff was amazing, you have to do that tomorrow!" I say, getting very excited for tomorrow. She smiles her big smile at me and nods.

Then the tension forms, the tension I've been feeling here and there when Claire is around. I still can't figure out what it is but it's weird. She looks at me and her smile starts to die down a bit, but still, there, I smile back and she scoots closer. I'm confused but I brush it off as I try to think of something to say.

Claire shifts her position so that she's sitting on her knees, facing me, I face her and smile. Claire is very pretty, she'll make someone really fucking happy someday, I just know it.
