Camden woke up the following day, feeling well-rested and slightly hopeful today would be better than yesterday. His alarm woke up at 6:35 and he brushed, his teeth, showered, put on a clean shirt and black jeans and headed downstairs to the kitchen where he had to start breakfast for all the kids. Camden basked in the quiet and he passed the receptionist who was playing Solitare, waiting to be changed over for the day. He flipped the lights onto the kitchen and he sighed. Camden would meet his new chef, Tiago alters and he would have to review more resumé's later. He looked at the supplies the other chefs had left and he saw about 40 eggs, 50 boxes of cereal, orange juice, milk and what was mouldy bread. "I hope they don't mind a limited menu", Camden said, looking at the flop top grill and firing it up. "Are you having fun there?", a voice asked which made Camden jump round to see who his enemy was. He sighed and rolled his eyes. "You scared the living shit out of me, Joan", Camden said as the teenager walked into the kitchen and Camden resumed to cracking eggs. "That gets the cooks every time", Joan said, laughing, "Speaking of which, where are they?". Camden cracked another egg and looked at Joan, "I fired them all. They weren't taking enough care with the food". Joan nodded and helped Camden crack the eggs. "Why are you up this early?", Camden asked as Joan cracked the last egg and the grill was full of frying eggs. "I can't sleep", she said, looking at Camden, "My brother keeps me up with night-terrors". Camden nodded and he gave a weak smile. He picked a spatula up but dropped it onto the floor. "Shit", he said, kneeling down to pick it up and when he saw what was underneath the grill, he was intrigued; what looked like a carving. "Are you that old you can't get up?", Joan said, smiling. "No", he answered, standing back up, "Just saw something weird underneath there". Joan got down and looked and she made a face. "Let's totally move it when all the food is finished", she said, "I'm feeling adventurous. "Sure", he said, "Shit, the eggs are burning!".
