Chapter Five - Cuddles

It has been a week since Jonah last saw Adam sleeping.

And he is starting to become more and more visibly exhausted, its starting to worry Jonah.

So Jonah came up with a small, not at all messy plan. It totally couldn't go wrong, at least not in his mind.

After one particularly long shift in the café, Jonah and Adam walk back home together. They both live in Mark's home - or mansion, for this matter. He inherited his father's mansion, big enough for all of them to live in comfortably without being too big.

The marbled walls are temperature isolated, keeping the inside of the place just warm enough to not be too hot or too cold inside the place. Mark explained its because Alternates are very sensitive to temperature changes, mainly if they're cold.  They cannot keep a human form if the temperature is too low, which makes sense considering Alternates are kind of like demons and they live in warm places more often than not.

Adam went directly to his room. Jonah decided to take a shower before going to proceed with his plan - Although he knows that it wouldn't be just a shower, he's been called out various times for his hours long rituals using more hair products than the amount you'd find anywhere else - his entire bathroom was basically a saloon of its own.

He picks himself a comfy black Turtleneck sweater and black shorts. He doesn't need to bother with temperature-specific clothing here after all.

Jonah makes his way to Adam's room, where Adam is curled up on the bed, hugging his blankets and pillows, yet keeping himself awake. He doesn't seem to notice Jonah entering the room, which is good.

Jonah sneaks up on Adam, laying down him and quickly pulling him into a hug from behind before Adam can respond.

Adam doesn't protest against it; He leans back into Jonah, cuddling up to him, relaxing.

"What did i tell you about not sleeping, Adam?" Jonah teased, pulling Adam closer.

"Sorry, i just can't sleep. I feel tired but i feel like if i sleep, something bad might happen." Jonah replied, leaning further into Jonah's embrace.

Jonah sighs. "You need to rest, Adam. You're starting to look sleep deprived." Jonah insisted, resting his head above Adam's head.

Adam doesn't reply. He simply leans further back against Jonah, letting out a heavy sigh as he closes his eyes. "Just this once. And if something happens, never again.." He trails off, as he slowly falls asleep.

Jonah holds him close, cradling him, letting himself relax and fall asleep with him.

They've been up there for a bit too long, Mark thought. Adam and Jonah have been in their rooms for too long. So he decided to go check up on them.

Mark carefully opened the door to Jonah's room. Jonah wasn't there, so he didn't think to search for anything. He went to Adam's room, and he stopped midway though opening the door, as he spotted the two peacefully sleeping in bed, cuddling up to eachother.

Mark wonders for a moment. He's glad Adam is sleeping, at least. He hadn't slept in a while... Even so, Mark decided that would be great blackmail. He pulled his phone out, and took a photo of the two sleeping together, saving it and sending it to Cesar.

He was quickly to get a reply from Cesar.

"Oh, so thats what they've been doing in their free time? Damn, wish i wasn't lonely."

Mark laughs at the message. He quietly closes the door to let the two continue sleeping, perhaps until Dinner is ready.. which will be in hours, that should be enough time for Adam to be well rested and recovered from whatever it was that caused him to not sleep for so long.
