Ch 9

Milkshake.

---

I woke up groggy and made my way to the bathroom to do my business.

One look in the mirror was enough to tell me that I seriously needed to go shopping -- "my" clothes were not really working out. Plus, I needed other essentials.

As I was about to leave my room, the doorknob turned. Slow, in a nice circle. No one came. I held my breath.

Conjuring 4 coming out soon...

BAM.

"Ssssissy-in-law-"

"ROW ROW ROW YOUR- ROWAN!"

Felix and Jackson stormed in yelling but then froze midway through their cheers (like in the movies :)

"Where is she?"

"I mean it's not that early. She's probably in the bathroom."

And cue my entry from the curtain. I poked my head out and coughed.

4 eyes curiously peered over and Felix stifled a laugh.

"You look like shit," he said.

Jackson stood there smiling in pain.

"If you don't mind me asking Rowan, what were you doing in the curtains?" asked Jackson.

You have no idea. I thought Baba Yaga and her dog were coming for me.

"Checking for lice," I deadpanned.

Both of them looked at each other as if they regretted coming here.

Felix clasped his hands together, "Well, I bet you won't have to check for lice when we're going shopping?"

"ACTUALLY?" I asked, eyes wide.

"No. We were just kidding. You running around looking like Annabelle from Walmart works perfectly for me," Jackson stated, emotionless.

I frowned, "Jackson. I will hurt you."

"Exactly why I was being sarcastic... we are going shopping!" Jackson cheered.

These guys I swear.

"Alright, let's go-" I laughed.

"Not so fast."

Felix and Jackson's faces went pale as they looked behind me.

"There's no need for shopping."

Clenching my fist, I turned around and held his gaze.

"Your clothes," was all he said.

Two maids proceeded to enter the room and lay two sensible piles of clothes on my bed.

"Your old clothes are in there as well. They're washed," Jace said.

I stared at him.

So he's not a creep. Good. I forgot he had my clothes WITH him yesterday, in HIS room. Best guess is he took them for size and things.

"A thank you would be enough," he said eyebrows raised.

"Right... ummm Jace. It does seem like you missed a couple of things. I think shopping will be necessary," Felix stated, rummaging through my clothes.

Why is he- forget it.

"I second that," I said quickly.

Now it was his turn to stare.
