I was getting ready to get ready for work since Shawn wanted me to do a double when my phone rang. I flipped over the bed and removed it from the charger. I looked at the caller I.D that read Mama Shannon and was confused.

"Hello." I heard her sniff through the phone and my confusion grew.

"What's wrong? What's going on", I asked as I heard all the sirens in the background.

"I need you to get down to the hospital now with Jaylen", she spoke before hanging up, giving me no time to ask questions.

I decided asking questions wasn't best right now anyways and grabbed my purse from my bed before walking out. I dialed Jaylens number as I started the car and pulled off the street.

"Wassup baby", he answered. I could tell he was in the car because of the loud music.

"I need you to get down to the hospital like now", I said into the receiver.

"Wait why? What's wrong?"

"I don't know Jaylen, just get down there", I said and hung up.

I pulled into the hospital parking lot and rushed inside. I tan towards the nurses station but didn't realize who I was here for. I stood looking confused until Shannon came up and pulled my arm.

"What's going on mama, why are we here?"

She struggled to get her words out as the tears streamed from her face. Just as she had calmed down and was about to speak Jaylen came through the doors. He spotted us and ran over to us.

"What's going on mama, where's Xavier", he asked worried. I looked around and noticed Zay wasn't around and that's when it clicked. When mama Shannon started to cry harder my worry grew and my assumptions had been proven to be true.

"Family of Xavier Thomas?" A doctor asked as he stood in his white lab coat. The look on his facial wasn't to assuring and I was hoping for the best because if we lost Xavier then life would be hectic for everyone.

We all stood and walked over to him while mama Shannon continued to sob. I felt bad about the situation even though I've only known Xavier for a short amount of time but I feel the pain Jaylen and Mama Shannon are going through.

"What's going on doc", Jaylen asked with worry in his eyes.

"Your son is a trooper." A flash of relief washed over everyone's face but that wasn't the end. "He was shot two times but luckily the bullets missed any organs but since he's so young and because of all the blood he lost he has slipped into a coma."
